Hi
I am currently an ACCA (Association of chartered certified accountants) student. I am 20 year old, Pakistani citizen and left with 4 Professional Papers ( Advance Tax, Advance Audit, Corporate Reporting IFRS and
Business Analysis).
As part of ACCA examinations, we have to study various courses ranging from corporate reporting IFRS, audit and assurance, financial management, taxation, corporate and business law, ethics governance and internal controls, business analysis and management accounting.
Right after completing my A levels, where I scored 3 A* (a stars) (In economics , business studies and accounting) I enrolled in ACCA studies. My GCE O level grades were 5As, 2Bs and 1C. (A 90% and above being the highest
awarded grade by GCE back in that time)
Since I did not have A level mathematics and to my dismay, I scored a C(74 percent) in Maths at Ordinary Level (GCE O LEVEL) , I was deprived of the opportunity to attend top rated Universities as many of them either B grade in Math at O level or A level Math.(or both)
I have also interned in Ernst Young Pakistan for a month . I served as an Audit Junior. As part of our ACCA, we have 14 papers to clear. 9 being the fundamentals while the other 5 being the professionals. ACCA students (who are opted into the BSc programme) have the opportunity get BSc Applied Accounting Degree from Oxford Brookes University while studying ACCA. This is done in order to provide ACCA students ,who have directly joined ACCA studies after their high school (A levels in my case), a chance to get a BSc Degree so that they could enroll themselves for Masters programme later in their lives.
Our Class of degree depends on two things. Firstly the grade of the research project we have to submit to the Oxford Brookes University and secondly our average marks from paper4 to paper9. (6 papers in total).
Students who have scored at least a 68% AVERAGE percentage in those 6 papers are awarded a First Class Degree irrespective of the grade they are awarded on their research work.
I have an average percentage of 75% and thus will be awarded a First Class BSc Degree in applied accounting of Oxford Brookes University by March 27 2013
I was wondering whether this university will consider this as sufficient
qualification to consider me for the programmes I have mentioned (Particularly Masters in Business and Economics OR Masters of Accounting) for July 2013 session
Could you please tell whether I will be eligible to apply in this course on the basis of my Oxford University BSc Degree in Applied Accounting?
Note that my transcripts won't be available before mid of May 2013 and I wish to apply for Sept 2013 session. Can an international student like me apply even before he receives his transcripts and upload them (assuming I will be applying Online instead of paper application) once he has received it? Before may 2013, I can upload every other document other than my transcripts. If, due to postal issue I’m not able to receive my documents from Oxford Brookes University by May 2013, can I still be able to upload them by mid of May or early June 13 ? The session would commence in July 2013 so I’ll still have ample of time to apply for the visa (assuming I secure the place at this university)
Also what are the job opportunities after completion of this degree in Australia?
Cheers
