Hi guys,

I am in a market for a new GPU, upgrading from GTX 1070. I am looking for a solid 1440p card with decent a 4K performance (anything above 30 fps).
I have a budget of about 65 to 70K max at the moment and confused between a used GTX 1080 or a new RTX 2060, since both are about the same price. I watched many benchmarks between GTX 1080, RTX 2060 and 2060 Super with GTX 1080 beating RTX 2060 and on par with super..
I don't really care much about RTX features.

Oh and I don't game online or anything..more like a couch gamer with a thing for eye candy.

If anyone in Lahore area selling a GTX 1080 (Auros, Strix or Gaming X or Z) or RTX 2060, please let me know.

Thanks.

If you can, you should consider buying a 1080 Ti instead. Both the 2060 and 2060 super are entry level cards of the RTX 2000 series which means they are meant for casual gamers whereas the 1080 and 1080 Ti are high tier cards of the GTX 1000 series ment for hard core gamers with beasty performance. You had a 1070 before so 1080 wouldn't be that much of an upgrade, go for 1080 Ti (new preferably) and Choose a variant with 8 GB vram + OverClockable...

1080 is still holding strong against the RTX series cards in non-RTX scenarios. It really depends if you want to indulge in the RTX stuff or not.

If you are looking to buy a graphic card in the range of 60-70k then obviously you should not look at the RTX series. there is no doubt that RTX series is very powerful and provide really great performance for 4k games but RTX 2060 and GTX 1080 are no match in terms of gaming performance,FPS, higher graphics settings etc. however, if you are still Ray Tracing lover then for a little low graphics settings the RTX will provide you very good light effects in gaming. Do take a look at comparison videos of gaming with Ray Tracing and without Ray Tracing.

BTW i still think that GTX 1080 TI is better choice for a gaming system so you should go for it.

Edited:

Now if you look at the performance of gtx 1080 vs RTX 2060, the 1080 which is cheaper than rtx 2060 still outperforms 2060 in many games
take a look here:

and this video:

and there are many other benchmarks videos which shows how gtx 1080 can beat rtx 2060
but once again i would spend a little more money and purchase Gtx 1080 Ti which is much
