Call of Duty 4 Questions

Been playing single player for a month or so jsut got 512k (about 50-60kb download speed) DSL and thought should try playing online but as you know its a cracked DVD got a CD Key error so wanna know where do you guys play ? on what server i tried playing on dsl.net.pk servers it works fine on some maps but in others it lags and misses frames its just not playable in some maps while another server i found just froze my screen for a few secs constantly , my system is pretty good don't know why it does that its Intel Quad core 2.4 ghz , 3gb ram, Nvidia 8500 GT , any suggestions/help to play smoothly online :frown:

Thats odd.

I use PTCL 512k, im in Karachi and I never get lag. Infact I get pretty okay pings ... 50-70.

I play on the same MBL server. By the nick of XTC (5 day old n00b please be gentle CoD4 LvL 55s)

that's weird, caused I used to play on MBL server with a 256Kbps cable connection without any lag with a average of 43-52 ping. how much ping you are getting at MBL? checkout your phone line for any disturbance.

my phone line is in best condition i got a new phone line laid out straight from the pole to my home with no cuts or anything , how do i find out how much pigs i am getting because i am noob to MP Gaming online ?

In COD4 you (on the screen where you select the server for joining) you will your ping written there..if it's within 50-70 range then you are all good to go!

When in game press TAB. Infront of your name ... the last column will have some numbers constantly changing, thats your ping.

ok got it on some maps it works fine i get a ping of 165 or so so but on others it gives me 999 :

I uninstalled COD4 and reinstalled it and that fixed everything it works fine one all maps now
