There are several institutes in PECHS namely Alhamd academy, Tabbani's School of Accountancy, KnS, ARTT etc. In clifton, there's Escribir.

What's your location? I think PECHS will be more convenient as it is centrally located.

Yeah it's almost same. For AFC level I would suggest Alhamd or TSA as they have well established computer labs.

ICAP is not in Saddar bro :s I would recommend you to go to any of the academies I mentioned above. They will guide you better.

Usually a student is first given admission form of the academy so I think the form you got must be for admission in academy.

Hi,
Its been a while since I lasted posted in the education section. I completed my ACCA degree in the previous session by the grace of Allah, been taking a break from studies so far. I know it isn't worth much here in Pakistan at the moment but still I'm content that I have a professional certification.

Now coming back to my query. I have been going back & forth with my options, so far CA seems the best choice considering I want to stay in Pakistan.(I can get into the Big 4). Is there like a better career option for me? Be it studying in Pakistan or going abroad. I'm keeping my options open & am open to suggestions.

ICAEW, if you can afford it and you have given F4 and F6/P6 UK you will have to give only 3 papers of ICAEW rest will be exempted on the basis of ACCA

Yes I have taken both papers, I can afford going abroad if that is what you meant. However, I'm not sure it'll add value in terms of employability in Pakistan.

I do plan on claiming the exemptions and getting ICAEW someday.

just an FYI if you have not cleared all of the Level 2 papers and get in to a firm you will be paid less then the trainee (like 2000 to 4000), your 3.5 years trainee period will not start until you clear all your level 2 papers and you will have max 2 attempts to clear you papers (failure to do so means bye bye ) meanwhile you will be expected to to your job like normal trainees (same hectic long sittings) so if you are just awaiting result for that said one subject go for it else no cause if you are studying that paper for the first time you cannot manage that along side your training correction UNcredited training

and if you are awaiting result for the said one subject or left with exam of that you cannot get in to PWC (ferguson) without a reference but still might have chances in the other 3 of big four

Who said there are only 2 attempts available and that AFF doesn't select candidates with papers left?

i didnt said "AFF doesn't select candidates with papers left" i said after being selected in to pwc he will have 2-3 attempts to clear those paper else the will let him go (happened to a friend of mine)

moreover he is FTS-9 this attempts pwc's criteria for eligibility is
FTS 11 - 13 for those with CAF 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 passed
FTS 7 to 10 for those with whole level 2 passed
(source= https://www.facebook.com/alhamd.edu...82486922219/10153990171107220/?type=1&theater)

if he is awaiting result for 1 paper
he cannot apply this attempt (doesn't meet the criteria)
if he passes now (inshallah) the next induction requirement for pwc with level 2 cleared will be FTS 8 to 11 and after that FTS 9 to 12; so he can apply in the next two attempts

if he will give paper in this attempt (ie sep 2016) then his only option is to clear it and aim for the march 2017 induction of pwc (ie CAF cleared FTS 9 to 12 one)

hope i was clear on my perspective and if i am wrong about something do let me know :)

Actually it's a really good policy of AFF that they allow 2 or 3 attempts to unregistered trainees to get registered but if they fail to do so, they are not let go. Instead they are sent on leave for a year to pass the exams and come again. Unlike other firms which hire unregistered trainees and then don't grant sufficient leaves to pass the exams.
