Blu ray disc wont start slim ps3 ?

folk's need a little info about slim ps3 320 Gb model.
What would be the problem if the blu ray disc dosent start or ps3 dosent read the bluray disk when inserted ?
Even if the firm ware is the latest one ? i mean no indication or blue light for reading the disc please do reply

I think the PS3 is region locked for blu ray movies but don't know this for sure. Usually at the back side of the dvd/blu ray film cover the region is mentioned. Check to see if it differs from the one your console is supporting. PS3 games are region free but that's not the case for most blu ray movie discs.

Yeah you're right. Movies are region locked.

Sorry for inconvience, what i wana say here it dosent detect the Blu Ray at all on XMB, i have checked the Games not the movie that is why wana know what would be the problem for it ? appreciate the reply

If its not detecting a disk, I think there is a problem in the lens. However, I have not ever heard someone of having a lens problem in PS3.

It's a bit rare but not totally impossible.

Have you tried a complete system restore? That has worked for people in some cases. No harm in trying.

Otherwise, you're going to have to get it serviced, and will possibly require a lens replacement if the laser has completely worn out.
