A few days ago we reported on a leaked Black Ops 2 poster that was making the rounds. That poster has now begun showing up in various Gamestop stock rooms, verifying its authenticity.
Alongside that poster is an important word. ”Eclipse”. It seems that Treyarch has attached that name to their next Call of Duty game, which most believe to be Black Ops 2. It’s likely that “Eclipse” is just a code-name, though it is also possible that the game will actually be called Call of Duty Eclipse.
One thing the word does do is provide us with a very likely release date for the game. Call of Duty games typically release on the second Tuesday of November, which this year is November 13th. The real clincher here is that November 13th this year is also the date of a total solar eclipse, which provides the perfect reasoning behind the “Eclipse” code-name.
We now know that the next Call of Duty game will almost certainly be released on November 13th. These recent findings have cast a little bit of doubt on whether or not it will in fact be a sequel to Black Ops or an all new Call of Duty game. Which would you prefer? Let us know in the comments.
