Of course, we've seen gigantic player counts before with the battle royale genre routinely breaking past 100 concurrent users, but Battlefield 2042 is different. The sheer density of players here can result in some stunning, extraordinary scenes, particularly in the Breakthrough game mode, where all players fight over a small number of objectives. The carnage is intense and it's safe to say that you won't get scenes like this in Call of Duty's Warzone, for instance - it's completely different as players are too spread out. As the all-out mayhem plays out in front of you, some scenes need to be seen to be believed.

In terms of technology, Battlefield as a series has always pushed boundaries and 2042 follow suit. The Frostbite engine still looks impressive, featuring massive playable areas with lots of geometry, great PBR materials, beautiful lighting and impressive particle effects. The chaos here is often stunning.

No 0fps drops but has a massive 128 player count with huge maps with destruction and physics based gameplay that a certain Quake engine can never deliver? Impressive!

The new Warzone map, Caldera, (much like Vanguard) is running on the updated version of the MW engine. It features 100 players, planes, tanks, runs at 120fps, and is likely more polished than this full priced game. Yikes!

There is no console version/mode of Vanguard that doesn't have this issue and it looks outdated AF while doing so, no matter how many players or booooollet travel it tries to include.

Imagine believing BF 2042 has better physics than COD: Vanguard, when it couldn't even get ragdoll physics right. Yikes!

Both Halo and BF actually have a physics driven sandbox. CoD bechaari ne recently boooollet travel implement kia hai. Give them another 10 years and they might have a half decent physics engine

I know a guy from White Orchard who wrote walls of text in praise of Cyberpunk 2077 - he got paid nothing for shilling the game of the year...not. He preordered BF 2042 and started a new hype cycle - but the scars from Cyberpunk 2077 remained visible. He played BF 2042 for 15 mins and then turned to free tooo play Halo Lulzfinite to save face.
I call Battlefield Clownfield - because it is a game for people who like to be clowned, clowned and yet still end up paying for it.

Expectations were low because of the BFV debacle. It's a bonus for me that the setting has returned to the present day. To be honest, I'd be willing to try it out if the mp is on par with Battlefield 3 or 4. Other than that, I don't see me leaving Call of Duty, which has superior gunplay.

BFV was a disaster. Didn't even like the beta, let alone wasting money on the final game.

Instead, you spent money on a game that currently has a Steam concurrent player count big enough to sustain 7.6 128-player matches
