Fortnite has been removed from the iOS App Store today by Apple, in response to developer Epic Games implementing direct payments in the game to skirt Apple's platform fees.


Epic actually think a platform are going to let them operate for free LMAO. I hope they try this with PlayStation.

One thing to note is that Apple is already under pressure (in EU) to allow other stores to exist, and allow apps from other sources to be installed, and to not take 30% from any and all transactions.

Similarly there is the case for Android (apparently having Play Store preinstalled is a hot topic).

Epic struck at the perfect time. Maybe they will come out on top. Either way, the consumers will defo win in this scenario.
