A strange experience, is our society going nuts?

assalam o alaikum to all,
Today a very strange incident happened with me, i was going on mm alam road just near pizza hut, n i was wearing a casual short n t-shirt, all of a sudden a man wearing shalwar kameez stopped me like almost grabbed my hand once i hand shaked as i had no idea wat its about, n then he started to introduce his name n as soon as he said wat r u wearing, i knew wat he was gonna talk i jst got my hand back almost lke with a force as he wanted to hold me there, n he was lke first starting in urdu in a nice manner kay my name is this n once i said i dnt hve a time for this n i m going, he was lke in punjabi "a kairi islam ay" (which islam is this?) i have no idea wat else he keeps talking as i jst walked ahead .. but isnt it strange? as this happened on mm alam road which is suppose to be a posh area of lahore .. i think in our sickness at least lahore is way backward .. never face any issue like that in ISB ..

I think he thought you were wearing sinful cloths, which in reality, wasn't the case.

Most people like that are illiterate even in their own religious knowledge so you should just forgive them in this case.

Well if you are muslim then you must know that men's private parts (Sitr-e-Orat) starts from belly button upto Knee.
So whatever ypu were wearing, those shorts should atleast cover upto the lower border of the knee.
I have seen people wear long shorta that covers the Knee, and i think in this summer there is no harm in it.

Well then, I feel sorry as Muslims can't play football/soccer as all of the players wear shorts which are above their knees.

Honestly instead of being too focused, people should "somewhat" adapt to the changes and environment. Even if he had shorts above knees, he could be going to play a match so take a fucking break and don't start judging.

That's the first and biggest problem of Muslims here, always nosing in other people's business. "Usne doosri shaadi karle", kese karli bhai, Hmne nae kari abi tk. :lol: Don't get your panties in a bunch and focus on your own life. That's what Pakistanis need to learn

Whats wrong is the fact people just want to put their nose into other peoples business to satiate their subjective ego.

Like women really bear the brunt of it too, and it pisses me off to no end how backwards we are sometimes. Like if you read some social media comments, holy crap its a hellhole. The amount of abuse is just staggering especially for women.

There are people that don't care about the way they look in a particular outfit, I am not against shorts or anything but a person must have a look at himself and see if the clothing suits him. I have seen people roaming around in totally inappropriate dressing and that they are inviting some goons like the one you encountered to confront them. I have no way of knowing how you looked so just speaking in general.

Kind of similar incident happened with me a while ago when an uncle, right outside mosque after prayer, targeted my check trouser and offered his shalwar kameez. I didn't gave it a second thought BUT I always think twice when it comes to wearing a check trouser in public. After all, I live in mini-Afghanistan however that incident happening in lahore is surprising.

I understand where you are coming from, I mean extremely short shorts or something I get but confronting a person based on check trousers is a bit too much. Like mind your own business, I don't get why people feel the need to do it. Like wearing shalwaar kameez doesn't make your a pious person man.
