Outside of some select areas, it looks like they've made some smart cut-backs, look at these comparison pics. You won't see any notable cut-backs unless going back and forth. The up-tick in performance will be worth it for a lot of folks.

The resolution is most important.

If it looks too soft ona big azz 4k display, it will be bad.

  • Drop in resolution from 1440p native (upscaled), to 1080p native (upscaled).
  • NPCs update at 20 fps to 30 fps to full 60 fps depending on distance on consoles in performance mode.
  • Drop in texture/material quality in performance mode
  • Reduced foliage quality/density and increased pop-in
  • Drop in ambient occlusion/shadow quality
  • Free roaming flock/animals in towns are completely removed

Holy SHIT at all those downgrades.

It creates an otherworldly effect, a disconnect between the player motion - the camera - running at 60, and then the swarm of rats updating at half that rate. Honestly for any scenes where rats dominate the screen space to such an extent, it begs the question: can the game always truly claim to be running at 60?

Folks relying on fake frame generation complaining that a game that was pushing visuals at 40 had to make cut backs to make it 120hz targeting game on consoles.

Poor Series S left in the dust. Kese guzre ge baaki 5 saal of the life cycle? 😭

Hopefully the enhanced consoles have some form of half assed frame gen tech from AMD to avoid these massive cutbacks. Not that FSR2 did jack to help the base consoles but well, one can hope 🤷‍♂️

Why'd Necrokiller leave out the juicy bits? Of course, coz this Necrokiller we're talking about 🤷‍♂️ :LOL:
  • 120hz offers unlocked performance mode
    • between ~70-100 fps typically on both
    • Rat animation refresh is set to 60 fps in 120hz
    • XSX has an advantage that can range from marginal, 3 fps differences, to nearly 20 fps in certain scenes (80 fps to near 100 fps).
70 to 100 fps with rat animations at 60 fps. Not bad :LOL: 🤜

120Hz perf mode still has all the fidelity downgrades, why leave that out? Because its CerebralTiger. Watch Dogs Legions vibes strong here. Imagine thinking the CPU problems "were solved" this gen. YIKES!!!!!!

Imagine not being able to appreciate the wonderful and intricate texture work from the artists who worked on the game :(

Why go for 40hz then? To 30fps pe khel lo phir saaen. "Its not a shooter" is a pretty lame argument. The norm for MP shooters has been well over 100fps for a while now.
