Hey,

I am interested in buying my mother a smartphone which should be maximum Rs.10,000 in price.

Her usage is of Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Twitter and Whatsapp extensively.

As she had laser eye operation, I am expecting atleast 5.5" good screen if possible with a good or average camera.

Can anyone recommend her a good phone?

Previously QMobile type stuff was available for those prices, but ever since the dollar rate went up, it's quite difficult to get a smartphone for 10k.

The new budget Nokia 2.2 is probably the cheapest thing you can get.

It's 14k for the 2GB/16GB variant and 15k for the 3GB/32GB variant.

Thanks for the reply. Isn't Nokia C1 and 2 Plus good option as it has Android GO edition ?

Plus, what is your opinion about Infinix Smart 3 as it has 2+16 GB with 6 Inch HD screen and 3050 maH battery?

Android Go is for devices with low RAM. The C1 only has 1 GB RAM, and even if you get the 'Lite' version of all the apps that you want to run, the phone will become painfully slow.

Don't know about Infinix, never used one.

I own Nokia C1. Bought this one as a spare phone for 7600rs. Has pretty decent look. So far it doesn't feel that much slow. I think this would be great phone for your mom or dad. The downside for me is the camera & ram (obviously) but the price, more than makes up for it considering you can not find any other reliable android go phone at this price range. Battery is awesome. Reminds me of the first ever Moto G phone
Though it won't run full version of facebook or instagram. Better spend 6k more & get Redmi 8A.

Unfortunately, Nokia 2.2 will underperform a lot.

I own a Nokia 2.2 as a 3rd device that I got for my office use (jo ke main use bhi nahin karta lol) and suggested a friend to get it for his father under a budget.

He reported that Nokia 2.2 is underperforming a lot, and his father's main usage was WhatsApp, IMO and some news related articles and so. Could be his father's usage got higher or not, so my friend is thinking of upgrading.
