Salam friends

I have a 2Tb Seagate 7200.14 hard disk.
Its installed in my pc with some media and games stuff in it.
I have been off from PC since 5 or 6 months. Using laptop for internet use.

Now i just ran out of space in laptop :)
So i was thinking of extra storage solution.

1st Option
was to buy a portable hdd 1tb, a good one costs 8k, usb 3.0 .

2nd Option is to buy a good 3.5 " HDD enclosure and install my 2tb awesome seagate drive in it and start using as portable hdd.
For this i have selected this : archgon_MH-3231 Sphere USB 3.0 3.5" HDD Enclosure
Its available at czone for 2800 : http://www.czone.com.pk/storage-solutions-archgon-archgon-mh-3231-sphere-pakistan-p.1716.aspx

Its price was 29 dollar at amazon  ... http://www.amazon.com/Archgon-MH-32...qid=1385894819&sr=8-1&keywords=MH–3231+Sphere

I bought my 2Tb seagate in 10k ... so getting this enclosure will make the 2tb portable package in just 13k, also imo it will give me faster speed than other portable hdds.

So what should i do ? Is that enclosure good enough to spend 3k ON it ? Or is there any other good enclosure in less price ?

Thanks

Regards

bro u can also get a usb 2.0 enclosure in 400-500rs. that will also give u good speed. this is a sata hdd, and it wil require an external power suply (which comes wid these enclosure/converter) so putting an external supply wid a laptop is not a suitable option for portability, if u carry ur laptop here and there.
usb 2.0 will give u about 30mB/sec which is sufficient if u just download stuff on hdd or play movies etc. USB 3.0 is only useful if u want to move/transfer bigger data often.

hope that clears it.

Usb 2.0 enclosure found locally isnt of good quality and priced around 1000 Pkr.
There is a cheap option which is the cable setup, that cost 450 Rs, its also usb 2.0, but i am dead sure that it wont support my 2tb hdd.

And the usb 3.0 enclosure czone selling is some patent taiwan stuff, ready to support upto 4tb, plus it has one year warranty :)
Encapsulated within that aluminium case supporting heat dissipation is a great thing, plus a stand with it ;)

What you say now ? :shifty:

Bro first do you have usb3 in your laptop ? a cheap china case will cost 900-1000 open cable setup will cost 500 and they both work similarly and will support 2tb I had tht open cable thing and was able to run WD 2tb green. Secondly if you only need for occasional backup then enclosure is fine but if you need for extended use then it will heat your HDD pretty bad, secondly 3.5 enclosure need external power with laptop its not always convenient. I have a seagate 4tb 3.5 .. and I can tell you it runs 45C even in this weather and i have to put a fan next to it to keep it cool.

Bro the enclose i mentioned has heat dissipation system and made of aluminium stuff, and i would not use for extended time period :/
Yes the external power thing is not that convinient.
These days all laptops have at least one usb 3.0.
I think i should get the one i mentioned from czone or else that 450 rs cable thingy :p
