That enthusiasm over making gifs says otherwise, and the lengths to which CerebralTiger went to claim how "next gen" it is. YIIIIKES!!...is about barely having played it
It only openned up portals to PS2 era gameplay. Atleast CerebralTiger has come to his senses now ( a bit lol)A game can be good at leveraging technology to open up new gameplay opportunities and still be a less than stellar for not utilizing it well. The two aren't mutually exclusive
I wouldn't go as far as calling it PS2 era gameplay, but the portals and crystals were all placed in pre-defined areas, and the player has no real control over their ability to hop across dimensions
This only came AFTER the PC version announcementthat simply weren't utilized well in Rift Apart
