Maybe your x360 controller was that way, and youre also the literally the rare on who say ds4 battery is fine
major aly said the same right before your messages, and shary only likes the DS3 more because its a better vibrator for his sexual needs

Well even if you prefer internal battery, DS dont give you the option so....

thats a terrible counter example, the length it lasts has nothing to do with it
it absolutely does, if something lasts a few months on a single battery, obviously it wont be much of an issue. Same reason we don't see USB powered wall clocks.. those are more of a 'set it and forget it' kind of thing, which cannot be replicated on game controllers

because it was a/ a hassle replacing batteries every week and b/ going out and getting more batteries after running out of them periodically

And im sure in the x360 era you wouldve felt differently so makes sense why youve changed your tune now lol
glad you brought that up, i just posted something about it, and even on 360 I switched to a play and charge kit not too long after getting one

terrible examples, TV remote batteries need replacing once every couple of months at worst, AA batteries in controllers wear out much quicker, especially if you play with full vibration

as someone who spent a few months running down batteries on a 360 controller, while its not as quick as a DS3/4 charge, but AA batteries wear out pretty quickly. Maybe a couple of days of limited usage at best.

Recharging is objectively not better though. Even from the cheap TV sets to elite LG OLEDs, all remotes use batteries

Well i say that as someon having both, to each their own i guess

and i think you're only saying it just to be a contrarian, but whatever :p

you are quite literally the only person i have ever seen who says replacing batteries on a game controller is better than a recharging solution
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
    Thats a fact
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
And all internal batteries have limited charge cycles so it only gets worse with time, not better
    Link
  • Necrokiller Necrokiller:
Its the more convenient option rather than having to sit a wired length distance as it recharges and you get worse latency while doing so

and a charge kit, a built in one preferably, will always be better than swapping AA batteries every couple of hours
    couple of hours? Lol no

your 2nd hand controller must have had a lot of wear and tear, mine has a pretty good battery life if I say so myself
i actually got a revised new controller....same poor battery life.

so to get the most of the xbox pad, you need to spend more than a DS4/Dual Sense. 🤷‍♂️

  • Chandoo Chandoo:
whether there is demand for it or not, its an objectively better option

DS4 battery is poor and its latency is abysmal while in wired mode.
