Why? Because Sony Santa Monica is also "Sony's darling", and their recent GOW game did not gain as high critical acclaim as one would expect. Several critics lashed out at its level and combat design, and termed it as a game suffering from series fatigue.
Hype does not influence reviews. If it did, GOW: Ascension and Gears of War: Judgement would be 90+ games on Metacritic.
And the developers working at 4A Games are not new to the games industry. Last Light is their second title under the 4A Games name, but they've worked on Stalker in the past (a game which you PC gamers cherish more than anything lol).
So yeah, the challenge is completely fair.

And no, it's not a corridor shooter. It's fairly open. Just that it isn't open-world. It's not even a shooter, in the traditional sense. Ammo is scarce, and you need to make the most of any weapon you have, whether it be a pistol or a steel pipe.

But but....I am still primarily a console gamer. "Fully embracing" would be an overstatement. The only thing that's changed is that I no longer have faith in MS with respect to offering exclusive content on their console. I got the PC originally for Wii emulation, upgraded the GPU for playing multiplatform games for free, without any risk of getting banned from the internet etc.
I'm looking to get the PS4 at launch, and the Wii U once there's a price drop and some good first-party titles are available. Console gaming ftw!

I highly doubt that a GPU upgrade wasn't a possibility down the line, esp since the baseline upgrade to a Core i7 was already in place. He did buy a GTX 550Ti after all.
Meaning that I don't really need a mighty-morphin' power GPU to run Wii games.

DICE ditched DX9 with BF3 and soon suggested people to upgrade to 64-bit OS. So, BF4 being DX11 only would hardly be surprising.
A Core i7/GT240 isn't a high-end gaming rig since you are heavily restricted in terms of GPU power. But replace it with a GTX 680 (and a suitable PSU) and additional 6GB RAM, and it very well does become a high-end gaming rig. Unless his 'high-end' starts with Titan SLI or something, that would be a different story :lol: -
