  • I know deep down in ur heart u thought KZ SF will strike at 9.0 but things went other way around and i missed ur post on that thread after critic scores.
    Amazon.com: LG 42LM3400 42" 1080p 60Hz LED 3D HDTV: Electronics

How is this one? The 12 customer reviews say that the 3D is quite good, but brightness is a bit low (I can live with this).

Its available at ShopHive for 70K with 1 year warranty.
Hmm that is a bit expensive :p But its one sexy looking beast :D

I had a look at Amazon for the Active Shutter prices, they are currently around 11-18 USD for Samsung ones. They are available for 8000 RS in Pak on a site I visited x_x

    I am not sure what to do lol :p Maybe I should go for non-3D Samsung models available for 55K... But I wanna have a taste of 3D gaming. :{

I hope I could find a 3D Passive 40" one below 70K RS, the search is on. Will go to the market on Next Friday Insha'Allah.

BTW how are LG 3DTVs (Passive)? I read a thread on PG that they aren't that good and everyone was recommending Samsung's Active over it.
The Orient one: Orient 32" LE 32F6508 LED TV in Pakistan-Homeshopping.pk

It's Passive 3D... Dad is also unwilling to go for it because of the brand name...
Wow CT that is an amazing comprehensive reply :)! Much appreciated mate.

Okay so the TV I was going to buy is Active shutter. But if you are saying that Passive is better, then which Passive TV would you recommend within 65-70K budget (I am a lil bit short on budget :(). Size must be 40" or bigger though. Which one are you using btw and how much did you buy it for?
    6) Will 3D movies work right off the bat off my PC? Or will I need a dedicated BluRay player for that? Are movies easily available in good 3D format?
    7) The one I am planning to get is this one, but there is also an Orient one available for 50K that has Passive Shutter 3D... Should I get some other one or is this one ok? The reviews on Amazon were quite in favor of the 3D quality of this TV, but some said that there were sound issues with BluRay movies (probably HDMI issue).

    Please advice bro. :)
Yo CT needed some advice. I am about to buy a 3DTV, primarily for gaming and movies. Needed to ask some questions about that:

    1) Will games run decently and look well on my rig? (I will upgrade to an i5 and probably a r9 270 soon).
    2) For 40", are Active Shutter Glasses better or Passive ones, both for gaming and movies? And also what is the price of Active (Samsung) and Passive Shutter (Orient, LG) glasses in Pakistan?
    3) How long does the battery in Active Shutter last? Is it easily replaceable?
    4) Are Orient ones decent picture and 3D quality wise? Or should I stick to Samsung?
    5) Are LED TVs reliable? I mean do they work for 5-10 years or will I have to replace them in 3 years due to some defect? Cuz the CRTs in my dad's room are still working after 11 years.
If price drop speculations for these new consoles in coming months is true then it'll be bonus for people who will wait for them. Plus, i didn't expect sane people to rush for PS4 purchase, and certainly didn't expect you to do so. Launch of any product is never so smooth anyway, unless we are talking "Rolls Royce" kind, won't you say? (It ain't a comparison).

Anyway, so what are the plans now? XBOne or just wait for the right moment?

Personally, i am not at all impressed by any of the launch or launch-time titles for either of the consoles. By impressed, i mean i didn't have that "tickle" which would've made me buy a "next-gen" console. And if i am completely honest, i was considering to have an experience ... not anymore, or shall i say, not for now.
Yo! I missed the recent events after PS4 release but i feel your enthusiasm about next gen games as well as consoles seems to have gone kaput? What happened?
Yeah lol, I deleted it cause I wanted to post it in the other thread or make a new thread entirely but the power went out and then I decided to eff it cause the discussion will either just fall apart into this Vs that arguments again or just not happen at all. I've tried to steer threads towards such topics in the past but my posts are just ignored next to the flame wars :p
Sigh! I now understand that it has to do with the region of the game itself more than anything else. Oh well, I suppose both of us should start buying Region 1 games from now on. For this particular game, I ll just purchase the DLC myself and share it with my friend.
Thanks so so much. Now it is all clear to me, finally! :)
Oh I see! So I suppose it works just like any other game one downloads and shares. I was only making things complicated for myself. Just one more question: What if he buys the DLC using his US account a) Would the DLC even play on his US account (considering he has a Region 2 copy of The Last of Us copy AND a PAL PS3 like I do)? b) Would I be able to play it the way you suggested getting DLC to work on separate accounts?
I mentioned that my friend also has a Region 2 copy of the game like me but his primary PSN account is US.
    Hello once more.

As usual, I am here with yet another enquiry related to the PlayStation 3 Network this time around. I have a UK PSN account and a Region 2 copy of The Last of Us whereas a friend of mine has a US account with a Region 2 copy of the same game. With the first DLC announced for the game, I was thinking about buying the season pass and sharing it with my friend. Both our PS3s are PAL so I have been pretty confused about these region locks tied to DLCs.

Are these region locks relevant to the region of the game itself or does it have anything to do with the PS3's region or the PSN account one uses? Would we be able to use the DLC on our respective PSN accounts if my friend buys it with his own US account instead?

It's all very confusing so I'd appreciate if you could break it down into digestible pieces for me and make this a bit easier for me to decide.

    Thanks in advance.
