Ok:
1. Here's the WAN setup page originally:
View attachment 93236

2. Deleted the Internet connection profile and created a new bridging one as follows - VLAN ID of 10 and bound it to LAN1:

View attachment 93237

3. You can verify there's no internet connection on the huawei ONT

View attachment 93238

4. I also disabled all IPTV profiles (profile 3 to 6) as their connection type was WAN bridge

5. I set-up PPPoE on my Linksys router: https://pasteboard.co/mufh4f7tR88u.png

6. The internet still wasn't connecting - log showed "Timeout waiting for PADO"

Then I explored additional options on the huawei ONT and in the routing settings, I found a setting called "IPv4 Service Route Configuration." In that, against service type of PPPoE, an IPTV WAN profile had been assigned. I changed it to the internet WAN profile (i.e. 1_INTERNET_B_VID_10) and my linksys router got connected immediately!

However, the trouble is that I am also going to get IPTV service in a few days and am assuming IPTV services are also done via PPPoE connection - unfortunately the "IPv4 Service Route Configuration" does not allow more than one bridge WAN port to be bound on PPPoE service type, as the error states here:
https://pasteboard.co/YHnCX3kDVD8W.png

Any idea if i'm doing something wrong? Others did not have to do any further configuration like I did.
You also have VOIP profiles. Do you have any phones connected with your PTCL ONT?
If the internet started working after disabling IPTV profile, then you are all set.
For IPTV I think you will be connecting your setup boxes with the PTCL ONT.

Yes & Yes - phone is connected but it's routed via IPoE using a static IP configured via TR-069 most likely as the PTCL rep just entered LOID number in the router ONT authentication settings and all other settings were automatically done.

If the internet started working after disabling IPTV profile, then you are all set.
For IPTV I think you will be connecting your setup boxes with the PTCL ONT.
Just a correction here - disabling IPTV profiles (idk why there are 4, each with separate VLAN ID) did not do the job - i had to go to to Advanced Settings>Routing>IPv4 Service Route Configuration where the default entry was referencing the IPTV WAN profile - once i changed it to the internet profile, my internet got working on my linksys router.

So what I want to understand is:
1. Why did I have to do the last step when others did not need to? This is not the first time i've done bridging settings with VLAN complications added in the mix - when I had a VDSL connection, there was no need to do the last step

2. My understanding is that when creating a bridging profile for internet with VLAN ID 10 and binding it to LAN1, the traffic to LAN1 becomes untagged and the downstream router (i.e. the linksys) should not require any VLAN ID configuration - so simply putting in PPPoE credentials should do the trick in authentication. However this did not work in practice

3. If IPTV is set-up, my understanding is that the set-top box will be configured with a separate PPPoE login/pw. Since i changed the setting in Advanced Settings>Routing>IPv4 Service Route Configuration from the IPTV profile to the internet profile, will this not create a problem? and what is the solution?

This was my setup on ZTE F660 ONT.

1. WAN Connection page for PPPoE.
2. WAN Connection page for Bridge.

All I did on the 1st page was uncheck VLAN ID which disabled this connection and that was it for me. I think you don't even need to bind any ports as I tried it without it and it worked fine. For the IPTV and Landline connections, those will only work with your PTCL ONT so no need to fiddle with them, you just need your internet connection bridged.

and what was your setup on your own router? After disabling the VLAN ID?

You might want to do a trace route rather than a simple ping - maybe it's not a route change but a malfunctioning network pipe or excessive load someplace... Or a route change.

Pings don't tell you the route.

In Windows, you use tracert instead of ping.

E.g. in command prompt, type:

tracert www.msn.com (or type the IP instead, and press enter)

And wait for it to populate. Sometimes, it'll throw blanks at times but should be there for most of the cases.

Now just do this at different times of the day and compare the major IP address blocks (x.x.y.z - the first two IP sets should mostly remain the same if there's no route change).

That's the quick and dirty version.

AoA everyone.
Need some advice and hlep.

Since, there is no upcoming flash fiber option in queue in my area for a while I decided to upgrade to VDSL but helpline is saying that 'There is no VDSL in your area'. This is obviously not correct since lots of homes have VDSL in around our colony.
In addition I also went to the local exchange today and confirmed and they told me that indeed there is availability of VDSL in our area, however, the up-gradation request must go through PTCL helpline. So, I once again called the helpline and it's literally like the title of this thread "New lines but same old BS".
So, basically, PTCL headoffice or helpline doesn't know that there has been working VDSL facility in our area for past 3 years so they can't do anything. I mean there is being 'Clueless' and then there is PTCL helpline.......

So, kindly provide suggestions please. Thank you.

^ It's not just about speed (although the more the better). It's about connection stability, lower pings and frankly open to more options. But above all I want better upload speeds, 1MB is not cutting it.
I am using 15MB and the highest upload speed can be gotten on adsl2 is just 1MB (on paper that's 128KBps but actually it's less than 100KB/s)

VDSL, by default, doesn't give you lower pings - unless you somehow convince them to turn off (on?) fast path.

Without knowing exactly where you live, aren't there any other fiber providers in your area? If you can, fiber would be better.

As for the helpline... half of them don't have the updated information (I suspect they have multiple systems internally and not all of them are consistent - because some agents know where there's fiber/VDSL and some don't - the exchange has accurate info all the time).

Narowal.
Flash Fiber is available in two areas so far and our area isn't one of them. No other option for fiber. There is a cable internet as well who pose as a fiber offering service but they heavily cap the bandwidth. DSL officer at exchange is saying that our area might be covered by next year but it's not confirmed. So, VDSL is the best option for now.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
