Milk the cow as much as you can. When the udder is drying up, find another udder.

You guys are still on the first udder.

Anyone availed the PTCL Ramzan offer? 😄 100mb for 3500.
It's a scam - the 3500 charge is for one month after that it's back to the orginal amount of 7800+. Also installation charges are 3000.

The salesperson tried telling me it would be 3500 for lifetime...i was like dude you have increased prices of packages 3 times over 1 year.

EDIT: Just re-checked with PTCL on fb - the offer is legit - charges will remain 3,499 if you don't change the package.

Oh i saw the banner today and was about to call. I am curious if any one has combined two internets ( Storm/Nayatel and PTCL ). Does these load balancers work as I need it for video conferences

I gave them a message on fb and the offer is legit...it seems the helpline staff is clueless. I have applied for a new connection.
The charges will remain 3,499 (before tax) after ramzan if you don't change the 100mbps package to something else.

That's huge then. A bit unfair to the existing customers though :(

username: admin
password: last 8 digits of mac address written on the back of device (Upper Case only) (ignore anything written after -)
Works for flashfiber devices such as HG8145V5, you can setup bridge mode as well, password is ptcl in wan settings, you'll see username anyway.

Good day!
Bro i tried setting up bridge mode but it's not working - can you share your steps?

There is a Bridge Connection in WAN settings on my ONT as well (ZTE F660). But I lack in networking skills so I would like some expert here to guide whether it is actually possible to use it along with IPTV and Landline.

UPDATE: So I created a WAN connection in bridge mode and connected TP LINK router (ZTE's LAN4 port to TP Link's WAN Port) and inserted PPPoE username and password but it wasn't connecting. Upon contacting 1218, the guy claimed 'sir bridge mode mein nahi chale ga sirf PPPoE mode mein hi chale ga aapka router'.
I was wondering if any one with Nokia or Huawei ONTs had any luck with it? If the router provides the option to do it then it is supposed to work unless PTCL is blocking it from their end somehow.

UPDATE 2: Good news, I managed to make it work. Credits to @topman11111 for pointing this feature out in PTCL's ONT though. Here are the steps I followed:

1. Login to your PTCL Router which is a ZTE F660 in my case. You can see the default username and password at the back of the router.
2. Navigate to Network > WAN > WAN Connection.
3. In the Connection Name dropdown, there should be an entry called 'omci_ipv4_pppoe_1', click that and you will see all of its details below configured by PTCL.
4. Now check you VLAN ID and note it somewhere.
5. In Connection Name dropdown, click Create WAN Connection. After that, input any Connection Name you want, now here is the IMPORTANT STEP, check the VLAN ID box and enter the ID you noted in STEP 4. Leave the 802.1p to default. Now for the Connection type, select BRIDGE CONNECTION. Click Create to save it.
6. Under the same Network tab, go to LAN > DHCP Port Binding. In this tab, change the LAN 4 to WAN. Click Submit. This is the port you will connect your other router to, so we have disabled DHCP for this port.
7. Go to DHCP Binding tab in WAN. Select the connection you created earlier in Step 5 and check the LAN4 option. I am not sure if it makes any difference but I did it anyways.
8. Go back to WAN Connection tab and select the 'omci_ipv4_pppoe_1' connection. Now you have to disable this connection by unchecking Enable VLAN option. After you save it, you will loose internet access as the router is in bridge mode now.
IMPORTANT: Note down the the Username mentioned here. Password should be 'ptcl' by default without the quotes.
9. Connect your other router like this:

PTCL Router LAN 4 -> Other router WAN Port

10. Turn the other router on, set it to router mode if it isn't by default. Now go to it's WAN settings and from their you have to select Connection type as PPPoE. Insert the username and password you noted earlier in Step 8 and click Connect.

Leave the IPTV and the Landline connected to your PTCL router and connect any other devices you want with your new router.

YOU HAVE TO REPEAT STEP 8 EVERYTIME YOUR PTCL ROUTER IS RESTARTED as the router resets to default PTCL's config. Mine is connected to the UPS so it almost never turns off.

THATS IT! Enjoy your OpenWRT Routers and all that cool stuff now.

NOTE AND DISCLAIMER: If anything goes wrong and you can't get back the internet, just reboot the PTCL router, it should be back to its default config. I won't be responsible for any issues regarding your internet.
I have the Huawei HG8145V5 and tried following your instructions - it's not working for me for some reason as there's no DHCP binding option, only binding options.

I am not sure if that step is necessary, main thing is to disable or uncheck the VLAN ID on the ONT.

I just edited the existing connection and changed it to bridge mode.

I have the Huawei HG8145V5 ONT.
  1. I accessed admin mode with the following credentials: username: admin, password: last 8 digits of mac address on router page (192.168.100.1)
  2. Navigated to Advanced > WAN
  3. Clicked on connection name 1_INTERNET_R_VID_10 - this is the connection profile that connects to internet via PPPoE encapsulation - noted the VLAN ID (10) and PPPoE username and password (default pass: ptcl)
  4. Changed WAN mode to Bridge WAN
  5. Checked binding options to LAN1
  6. No other settings were changed - Clicked save
  7. Connected LAN1 to WAN port on my Linksys router
  8. On my Linksys, configured router mode on WAN settings and selected PPPoE connection type. Entered the PPPoE username and password and clicked apply
Unfortunately my linksys router is not getting a WAN IP.

Did you disable the connection on the Huawei router first? I think you have to uncheck the VLAN ID (atleast on the ZTE ONT) for that. This step is important.

Yup. My Linksys router (running openwrt) shows an error in log stating timeout waiting for PADO

Does your internet on the Huawei router go off? Also, make sure you input the correct login and pw in the 2nd router.
Yes - disabled VLAN and also disabled the "Enable WAN connection" for the default internet profile so it shows disconnected.

Login and pw are the same - i verified by creating a new PPPoE profile on the Huawei router as well

remove every WAN network profile and create new bridge profile only. And share screenshots please.

Ok:
1. Here's the WAN setup page originally:
Capture.PNG

2. Deleted the Internet connection profile and created a new bridging one as follows - VLAN ID of 10 and bound it to LAN1:

Capture2.PNG

3. You can verify there's no internet connection on the huawei ONT

Capture 3.PNG

4. I also disabled all IPTV profiles (profile 3 to 6) as their connection type was WAN bridge

5. I set-up PPPoE on my Linksys router: https://pasteboard.co/mufh4f7tR88u.png

6. The internet still wasn't connecting - log showed "Timeout waiting for PADO"

Then I explored additional options on the huawei ONT and in the routing settings, I found a setting called "IPv4 Service Route Configuration." In that, against service type of PPPoE, an IPTV WAN profile had been assigned. I changed it to the internet WAN profile (i.e. 1_INTERNET_B_VID_10) and my linksys router got connected immediately!

However, the trouble is that I am also going to get IPTV service in a few days and am assuming IPTV services are also done via PPPoE connection - unfortunately the "IPv4 Service Route Configuration" does not allow more than one bridge WAN port to be bound on PPPoE service type, as the error states here:
https://pasteboard.co/YHnCX3kDVD8W.png

Any idea if i'm doing something wrong? Others did not have to do any further configuration like I did.
