I was on 30mbps package before (the one mentioned on flash fiber website) and now getting 50mbps for only 500 additional charges.
Can you share the name of the IPTV you are using right now and also it's seller if possible. I am only interested in sports channels for the most (BeIN and BT sports). I am ok with the delay, just want lag free experience.
Check PM

Anyone get the message from PTCL some days back that they're increasing the prices?

My 20Mbps is now 30Mbps, and the prices have been raised by ~150-200 rupees only (approx calculations, off the top of my head).

It was to be effective today (23 May). I was getting 30Mbps at around 8am or so.

I doubt it. In my message, it was explicitly mentioned my package will be upgraded. Another line (my cell gets the SMS alerts though for this other line as well) got the same message about a price increase but no package bump.

I wonder who else got a package upgrade as well.

yes i also got the sms alert regarding the price increase from 2530 to 2700 but increasing the speed from 20mb to 30mbps which is a no brainer honestly! better late than never. plus if u give 200 rs more u can have netflix starz play and 200 mobile minutes as well which is really good deal for 2900 rs excluding tax. the Flash fiber speeds and deals are getting better honestly and service is so much better overall than copper. iptv runs smooth again with vpn. i use express vpn which is blazing fast but expensive at 9$ a month but its worth it. ideally u would want an iptv that runs without vpn but i tell u most will buffer or throttle without vpn.
@EliTuS u got lucky bro that 50mb deal is killer at 3700rs i wish i got that offer!
@shaheerk could u also pm the name and seller of ur iptv bro. mine is from an aliexpress source its good but i would want one that works without vpn

wth thats really a super deal man! how much will u be paying including taxes i think closer to 5000? 75mb for 5k including netflix that aint bad at all. PTCL is that really u?

i think they offered in tiers so 20mb customers went to 30. 30 mb to 50 and 50 to 75 and so on but the prices makes so much sense at those speeds totally killing the competition!

Yep, and for some reason, these prices aren't online.

In fact, ptcl.com.pk has the very old packages, and ptclflashfiber.com has the relatively older packages. Would you think they'd have another website for these new prices?

It will be 5900 incl taxes as far as I have calculated. The Netflix package comes with an additional cost of 200 as per their website.

I think they will update the regular pricing soon for all the customers as they usually do after these 'promos'.

And these guys are bonkers - or at least their systems are.

I've gotten a call - twice - offering me this promotion (once yesterday, the second time was today).

They don't have it updated that I have had the package automatically upgraded.

Ok so i got upgraded from 100 Mbps to 150 Mbps but i have no idea of price increase. I didn't got any email or sms.
Anyone have an idea of price increase? Because this is useless to me unless they also increase FUP from 2TB to 3TB.
For me bandwith is the most limiter on 100 mbps not the speed.

I think FUP is fixed at 2 TB - and that's also on the higher end. Other ISPs in Pakistan aren't as liberal as PTCL.

Comcast (US) allows 1.2 TB (https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/data),

AT&T does 1 TB for speeds less than 100 Mbps (https://www.att.com/support/article/u-verse-high-speed-internet/KM1010099/) and unlimited for higher speeds.

Granted, there are lots of other ISPs in the first world which offer higher (or almost unlimited) data limits but they have acceptable usage policies. Torrents are choked there, you get complimentary police knockings on your doors for repeatedly and illegally downloading content (after ISPs issue you a few strikes), or it's just blocked altogether.

Also, the prices there are a bit more higher in absolute terms (even though relatively speaking, they may have cheaper internet). But point is - for this price point, and the fact that we don't get the police chasing us for downloading things, the networks will throttle you when they feel their systems are being abused.

Otherwise, pay for a corporate package.

Everyone loves unlimited. We just don't have the money nor resources.

Adding to this, my views about PTCL have changed alot after getting their Fiber Internet. Absolutely no complains with them now except that they can still improve the routing and stuff to SEA and EU but that's something which can be fixed with VPNs. So yeah, credit where it's due.

I've noted if you're patient with them, drop them an email, show them the traceroutes and alternative path.

Not as easy as it looks - but they probably won't do anything if the improvements are 20ms (my guess), but might if it's more.

It's worth a shot either way - but you need to show them the existing route, a route on Transworld (only other pipe available), and try pinging to servers on Transworld's route and see which one yields a better response. Basically, trial and error.

Well other than the latency issues in some games, the occasional packet loss also has something to do with PTA blocking the so-called VOIP traffic as this issue never existed a couple of years back. The only way you can play online nowadays without many issues (at least the games I play such as Apex and Warzone) is via a VPN (paid ones of course).

Only Kids cry about ptcl. I have used PTCL DSL since 2007 when they first announced their packages of 256k, 512k and 1 mbps. I immediately ordered 512kbps and got miles ahead experience then what i was already using (Lahore).
I have tried brainNet, nexlinx etc before and none offered speed consistency like PTCL. Then i got upgraded to VDSL back in 2015 and finally to GPON in 2018.
I am not saying that i didn't have my share of bad moments but they were few and easily solved. Ever since i moved to vdsl frequency of my issues went down to like probably once in couple months to like once in 6 months. Fiber as everyone who has used it knows is totally on a different league.

The secret to a good PTCL internet connection IF you are on a simple copper and using DSL is to have a very good relationship with your local lineman. Get his number and always CALL him first before lodging any complain. He will give you the best pair and the frequency of your problems will get significantly reduced. Most people are just too cheap to put in a 500 note in their lineman pocket every once in a while and then they cry on forums. Everyone living in pakistan should know by now how things work here.
