I wasn't connecting with the CiTY until I turned off that constant BGM. Much better this way, you get to hear & feel the city 'breathe'.

And I could connect with the characters.

Now that I can try this side by side with GTA 5, the driving & controls in general still feels off in this game. GTA 5 just feels more 'FUN' to play overall, the writing, the characters, the city, everything.

Anyway, I am going to give this all my attention & not rush it! It's not bad but it could be so much better.

Also, why the F is everything so sexualized in this game lol, WTF!

Started all over yesterday with the default female lead as a street kid. Since the street kid starts indoors where there are a lot of neon lights, you can't fail to realize how absolutely phenomenal the game looks. I was already a sucker for neon lights, especially after Infamous second son and Cyberpunk definitely delivers. The game is a looker, at least that's my impression with the brief time I have spent with the game as of now.

I am definitely not a technical guy but the RedEngine certainly is something very unique. I hope UE5 does turn out to be a better choice in the end, I have played the Matrix demo and it definitely looks promising. But as DF pointed out the engine consolidation does not help the long term health of this industry.

I also started playing a few days ago on my PC again. Previously I played a bit on my brothers laptop but stopped once I realized I can't play on a smaller screen. Anyways:

I also picked streetkid, and I gotta agree with @venom here, the visuals specially indoors at night are a treat to the eyes. Haven't seen an open world game with this much packed in look this good. Phenomenal. However, one thing that really stood out for me is just how good the characters look up close and how natural they appear when ever you are having a conversation with them before the start of the mission. The eyes movement, gestures..they even interrupt you if you fail to answer in time removing that awkward silence between dialogues in RPG games. The skin shader is absolutely fantastic looking. This game is an all around package. Compare this to fallout 4 and man it looks and feels a hundred years ahead lol.

Driving is something I right now can't get used to, feels a bit too heavy and floaty as compared to say, GTA V. Not saying it's a fault of the game, it's just alot different than what I expected coming from GTA V. Although framerates drop ever so slightly when driving, which probably adds more to the driving floaty and sluggish feel

I'm not used to playing RPGs let alone a first person one so sometimes it can feel like a sensory overload for me. Too much stuff on screen at any time, to much dialogues, texts, mission updates, characters calling you, it's hard to be focused when game try to throws at you everything it can. Eh I'll get used to it.

The shooting feels good, although a bit too heavy on animations? (There are upgrades to reduce reloading and drawing time tho) shotguns feels satisfying, rifles feels good too. Overall much better than I expected, considering it's not an fps game.

The characters seems really fleshed out and interesting to have a conversation with, I instantly got attached to Jackie lol and got my heart broken

Boy ray tracing is heavy in this game, and is all out( lightning, shadows, reflections, sun shadows). Looks amazing tho. Thankfully DLSS saves the day here, or else getting 60fps would have been nigh impossible. Honestly, feel bad for the AMD users, I turned off DLSS and my fps instantly dropped to 50s~

No bugs seen till now, but I have only started the game

Fallout 4 looks like a bad joke compared to this game

Looking forward to play it more this night

Yea I do hope Obsidian (with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2) and the likes are taking notes on first person immersion implementation from this game. Everything else feels like a janky mess after playing Cyberpunk 2077 (including FPP in GTA V lol).

lmao Cyberpunk 2077 is a janky mess to begin with. How on earth can it make everything else feel janky 🤣

Slight drops in frame rate shouldn't be having noticeable impact on controls....unless :p

nah just frame drops to 55~ from 60 when driving fast. It is annoying but thankfully no stuttering faced as for now. Driving feels heavy like gta IV instead of V. I think alot of jank you saw has been fixed maybe You should play on PC again because i havent seen any funny animation bug or clipping or raqgdolling or broken mission scripts in my limited playthrough

I see. But you do notice the nasty stutter every time the game autosaves, right? It happens on PS5 as well (and I'm guessing every other platform).

It rips me out of the experience in a way that does not happen if the frame rate just drops. When stutter occurs, I stop thinking about the gameplay, the story, and I instead start thinking about performance.

Very disappointing. GTA V autosaves as well, but it never happen there 🤷‍♂️

Autosaving stutter doesn't happen on my core i5 12400f and neither on my Ryzen 9 5900hs but again these CPUs are pretty new and powerful. Maybe it's also because I'm running on a nvme SSD on both platforms? It loads like in 3 seconds I'm shitting you not. Hmm maybe I can show you a video in this one because I don't have it modded, just need to figure out if I should use Nvidia's recorder or the built-in windows 10 one

pasha kispe time zaaya kar raha hai. He'll just try to find another nitpick. The autosave one didn't work out for him 😂

To your point, it is incredibly fast because games without loading screens typically have long initial loads but this game loads in a matter of few seconds. Perhaps CerebralTiger can compare GTA V and RDR2 load times for us? lol

Sounds good. If possible try capturing an autosave instance while driving with the frame time graph overlay enabled. Capturing via GeForce Experience should be better, since it doesn't tax the cpu and this is essentially a cpu + storage test.
