Aoa,
My current setup includes: i7 4790+ Z87 mobo + 16GB Ram & 1080Ti while my upgrade budget is around 100K.
I have to options of upgrade in my mind ;
1. > Keep 1080Ti GPU & upgrade Pro+Mobo to intel 9700 or Ryzen 3700

2.> Stick to ( i7 4790+ Z87 mobo ) & upgrade GPU to 3070Ti

Which option is better in terms of performance boost.
Any other valuable suggestion will also be appriciated,.,,,,,

There are various aspects of these combinations. If you pair a 3070ti with i7 4790 then it will cause bottleneck at higher refresh rates so if you like to play some of next gen games at higher resolutions and refresh rates that will not be possible. If you dont care about refresh rates ,just want to play at 4k 60 fps max out settings. You wont face any problem with i7 atleast for some time.

On the other hand if you pair a gtx 1080ti with i7 9700 you will only see some improvement at 1080p,very slight at 2k and ZERO improvement at 4k.

SO answering your question requires
1)Your current monitor you are using
2)Refresh rate of that monitor
3)Type of games you like to play (esports or single player)

Walaikum-as-Salam,

I'm assuming you are already on NVMe system/game drive since that's the biggest visible performance boost people notice when upgrading.

Upgrading from i7 4790 & 1080Ti on an HP LP3065 (2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz) to either a CPU upgrade or a GPU upgrade would not gain you a lot of visible performance boost NOW, on the same monitor, except giving your system some longevity and making it future proof. If you want to go that route and upgrade your monitor in future as well then it makes sense to upgrade components one by one as and when budget becomes available.

In that sense I would suggest that you go AMD route rather than intel, since going with AMD's AM4 socket (e.g., B550) will open up more CPU options and upgrade routes. Intel's Z590 platform is a burning ship that intel will itself abandon with next CPU launch, these were meant for 14nm 11th gen CPUs alone and do not have any future, not to mention AMD has better IPC and Process Node.

B550 motherboards on the other hand support 3000 & 5000 series, but you can go with used B450 or X470 boards and run ANY AM4 CPU from 1000 to 5000 series.

On the GPU side of things, it's pretty simple, 3070Ti is a very potent card, it's just the matter of current prices, and it's not gonna come down very soon, as GDDR6x shortages are also driving GPU shortages.

I would upgrade the CPU first, then in next installment will upgrade the GPU, maybe prices would be better by then or better cards (bigger VRAMs), then will upgrade the monitor. Ofcourse, CPU upgrade would necessitate motherboard and RAM upgrade. Go for 5600X setup.

CPU: 5600X with stock cooler

Mobo: B550 motherboard, ASUS/Gigabyte/Asrock have good reliable motherboards, mATX (Micro ATX) are cheaper than ATX, buy the one that is available and cheaper among the above mentioned brands, if you need WiFi then get a motherboard with built-in WiFi.

RAM: 16GB (2x8GB Dual Channel kit), 3600Mhz at CAS Latency ~14 / 16 depending on price. G.Skills Trident Z Neo is a good RAM for Ryzen but buy what is cheapest among above specs, speed and latency is more important than colour or RGB, look for speed 3600Mhz and a CAS Latency of C16 or lower.

SSD: NVMe SSD at least 512GB for your system drive, ~3000Mb/s Read/Write, 970 EVO Plus or 980 equivalent.

PSU: Get at least a 80+ Gold rated power supply, will save you in electricity costs in long term. Power draw for a RTX 3070 Ti is 290 Watts and PSU should be 750 watts or higher, don't skimp on PSU, cheap PSU will damage your hardware, get Corsair RM series or equivalent.

if you ever upgrade your casing, emphasize on AirFlow rather than looks or RGB. AirFlow matters a LOT. Get a case with good airflow. At a lower price point
Antec NX800 or higher budget Cooler Master H500M.

So it means there will be no significant difference in terms of FPS in game play?

Since its a 60hz monitor spending a lot on processor doesnt make any sense unless you wish to upgrade it in the furure.Remember its your CPU which pushes the fps.And any good quad core with Hyperthreading like yours can push 60 fps(atleast for some time).

Ultimately its your choice. If I were you I would have thought that if upgrading even makes sense for me or not.If I am getting 60 frames at high or max out settings at 2k resolution why should i upgrade when i know i wouldnt be even able to take the advantage. And forget about future proofing since prices still are way above their MSRP and if in one year they get back to normal which we can hope ,next gen cards will be out by then and future proofing all goes to hell......

Your 1080Ti can handle ALL games at 2560 x 1600 at a steady 60 FPS, the max your monitor can drive, with 3070TI you will be able to increase your graphic details more while still able to get 60 FPS. At 2560x1600 your 4790 won't be a bottleneck for your 3070 Ti but you won't be able to discern much difference after upgrading from 1080 Ti to 3070 Ti, certainly not worth 100,000 worth of difference.

When you increase the number of pixels and refresh rate that your GPU needs to push out, then you need to match it with a potent enough CPU to drive that much data, but for ~1440P@60 your 1080 Ti or 4790 isn't being pushed much. I would say spending on upgrading to a 1440p/144Hz monitor would be a noticeable improvement.

Hall road and Al Hafeez Mall have a lot of PC shops. From 60Hz to 144Hz is much discernable difference in gameplay smoothness, I noticed some going from 60 to 120Hz but 144Hz is where its at.

Type of games like to play .,., Sometimes COD online but mostly Single Player but all the latest ones.....
But if you don't play much FPS games then HFR (High Frame Rates) won't matter either.

Recently upgraded to Gigabytes 32G display. Now looking forward to upgrade CPU;.
After the search of a day or two, i got mixed reviews on Pro+Mobo upgrade & i see most of guyz opting for ;
Intel 10700f, 11600k or Ryzen 3700x, 5600x.
Now all cpu have around 50-55k price range with ± performance in each game.
Now suggestions required to select Cpu + Mobo package (Used/new).

Recently upgraded to Gigabytes 32G display.

Intel 10700f, 11600k or Ryzen 3700x, 5600x.
As shown in video above and other benchmarks from reliable sources, 5600x beats 10700 & 11700 in most games, even though by small margin, however 5600x has greater lead over 10700 & 11700 in productivity benchmarks. But AMD's 5000 series CPUs are in shortage due to higher demand and are selling for higher than MSRP, while intel CPUs are selling at lower than MSRP, which tilts the comparison in performance per cost in favour of intel CPUs. If you can find one at MSRP then go for 5600x, otherwise go for whatever you can find.

What is MSRP for 5600x? Every online store has different price tag for 5600x or even intel cpu's.

5600x launch price / MSRP is $299, at today's conversion rate of 168.9, it comes out to be 50,670 without tax or shipping. In Pakistan, it is selling at retailers for 57,000 to 60,000. Since its an imported item, there is no fixed market price, it will depend on the dollar conversion rate, sellers buying price or margin etc.
