For Lahore, I applied for a relocation on July 13th. They charged 2.3k if i remember correctly for relocation.
and so far, no one has arrived to install it on the new location. Their responses on email are always same no matter what you say and it seems automated. "Your issue has been elevated on priority level"
Pretty pathetic I'd say.

Guys, my friend has storm fiber installed and has been using it for over a year. Recently his modem got faulty and he was told by the technician that since it’s not in warranty anymore therefore he has to pay 10k for the new modem to be installed. This is insane? Isn’t modem their property? They should not charge customers right?

Karachi.
My connection finally installed (after like 20 or so days of application).

But the connection is pretty awesome I must say. Speed is only 2 Mbps higher than my previous connection (PTCL 8 Mbps) but the versatility is so high due to equal Down/Up speeds. On PTCL, I used to get like 0.8 Mbps upload on an 8 Mbps download. I complained a lot but it was never resolved and everyone was clueless as to its importance. I was finally able to upload my old photos and videos to Google Drive for backup purposes due to high upload speed. The browsing feels very snappy. I am able to download stuff at like 700 Kbps and simultaneously watch a smooth 720/60fps stream on Twitch.tv.

Damn that's a horrible thing to experience :( Stormfiber should hire a couple more teams per area for maintenance / installation purposes. Because the instances of late installations and poor maintenance are very high.

I'm guessing you were on PTCL's DSL. There's a technical limitation of ADSL (which is overcome by VDSL) that upload speeds are limited to ~1.5Mbps at MOST (most ISPs usually cap it to 1 Mbps for stability and buffer bloat reasons). If you're on VDSL, this limitation is removed - but you get slightly higher latency.

Fiber, regardless of any connection, doesn't have either the upload speed cap nor the latency issue. Had you opted for PTCL Fiber, notwithstanding other issues inherent to PTCL and their customer service, your experience would have been similar to SF as far as the core internet product is concerned.

So - in this thread, it appears SF is having major issues in Karachi as far as customer service is concerned, but not in the other cities?

Service-wise, I know a few Karachiites who are contended with SF. I don't have it (no coverage where I live) but I've been wanting to get rid of PTCL (I have fiber) because of their billing/customer support/other ticks/crap TV.

Trouble is, Pakistan Package is the reason people are hooked onto PTCL - it just doesn't make sense to use another landline service given most connections belong to PTCL.
They officially have one of the worst customer services and service performance in Karachi now. I had 30mbps internet but was suffering from slow browsing and disruptive streaming for sometime. I complained on numerous occasions but each time they would say that's because I have several devices connected at the same time. That may be the case but not all devices are active at a single given time. Then few days back I increased my bandwidth to 50mbps thinking that might resolve the usage issues (& that is more than adequate for a household). Guess what, it's worse than before.

Then yesterday day I complained via their online portal that my analogue tv reception was poor and that my HD Boxes are unable to scan all channels. The idiots closed my complaint as 'resolved' without having to contact me. Instead they left a post on the portal asking me to do a full-scan or factory reset the HD Box. What an idiotic recommendation. Of course, I had done that all and when I said that the HD Boxes are unable to scan all channels should have made it abundantly clear that I had done the auto scan (as well as factory reset).

I would change my internet service in a glimpse if there is a better option.

It's odd (and sad) to see stories like this - because Cybernet would pride itself for having top-notch customer services and all, but the experiences as of late in this thread show otherwise.

At least for the Karachiites.

It's almost as if they're like *gasp* PTCL. Or Mobilink, for that matter.

My Jazz 4GB service, for whatever its worth, performs better than Stormfibre. Of course, bandwidth is limited but the performance is consistent.

If anyone has experience with Optix I would like to know if its worth it?

Stormfiber deployment team and field team in karachi is struggling to resolve repeated fiber cuts in many karachi areas mainly due to k electric staff cutting their aerial cables. Transworld is affected too. Major areas of DHA that have full underground cabling don't have these issues. KE blames isps for electricity theft and infrastructure damages.

Ask them to send utilization graph on your registered email with snap of connected devices.

Anyone else experiencing slow speeds on Stormfiber in Lahore? I have 30mbps but various apps such as Steam, uplay and battle.net are sluggish and fail to load at all sometimes. The speedtest is showing full speed but various sites and apps acting like I am on dial up.

Have you tried direct download using ADM to determine true speed ? Try few test downloads

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.

After I watched it, I never felt like i watched a show. It was a friggin journey. I got way too attached to Thorfinn and seeing him grow up and find himself and get rid of all the negativity inside of him was just pure bliss.
