And how is it? What's your feedback? Custom DNS on the router - is it possible or not? Slowdowns? Pings? Routing? What about their TV?Yes been using it for around two weeks.
Well the TV is definitely better as opposed to PTCL. Overall the connection hasn't gone down once so far which is a good sign. Installation time is upwards of 15 days which is tiresome. As for the router wasn't able to access it with the given credentials, haven't gotten around to talking to support due to hectic routine. Slow downs i'd say once so far and pings are average nothing extra ordinary, they were better when I was using Nayatel. And how is it? What's your feedback? Are you using Plex?I bought static ip addon from stormfiber for portforwarding which I needed it to accees my home media server from outside my network via nginx reverse proxy but turns out they are blocking incoming port 80 and 443 and also ftp and ssh.
After mailing helpdesk and convincing them that I am not hosting any website or using voip they opened port 80 but still not sure about 443
Actually I shifted from my old place, Nayatel wasn't available where I currently reside. I'd say Nayatel was around 10-15% more stable. However, I have yet to put it under a long term test to form a definite opinion. Can I ask what made you switch from Nayatel?
And regarding pings - how much better was Nayatel?
Yes using plex in docker with many other containers for remote access to my home media server. I have my own 12TB of movies and shows collection currently using nginx reverse proxy with only port 80 and 443 forwarded. Are you using Plex?
Sir their service varies with area.Stormfiber ki itni trash service kasam say. Applied for connection on 23rd July. Was told it would be connected before 1st August. Talked to them on 1st August, was told it would be installed b/w 3~5 August. Called on 5th August, was told between 7~9 August. Called yesterday (9th August), was told today before 2 PM. Now being told that "today evening" will be the day.
In between, talked to a guy I found through LinkedIn (Zonal Manager Field Operations). He told me that new connections are not being installed right now due to high amount of corrective maintenance on current connections, and whatever I am being told by my StormFiber marketing contact is incorrect.
Just applied for a refund. I waited since 2019 for this service to arrive in my area. It arrived in early 2021. What a shit service dude.
Their marketing team is made up of a bunch of clueless wankers. Let this be a lesson to all that StormFiber service is going down the drain each passing day. It used to work pretty well in my office (20 Mbps U/D). But recently at night time the connection feels congested. I figured what the heck, it is still better than my PTCL at home, but apparently not...
And the city is ?Sir their service varies with area.
I filled their form online. Within 5 minutes I got call from my city's Stormfiber office. They came in half hour to collect the money. The next day was Sunday. They came at 10:00 AM on a Sunday to install the connection! It took 0 working days to install it xD
