Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

PS5 Release Date, PS5 Games, PS5 Power vs Xbox One X, PS5 Price Speculation - All the PS5 Info lets discuss

Here are all the rumors and speculation surrounding the PS5, including a potential PS5 release date, power, and launch games of Sony's inevitable PS5. Is the PS5 releasing in 2019?

What we Want From the PS5 Speculation aside, what would we ideally want from the PS5? Backwards compatibility for PS4 games would be brilliant, simply because you'd be able to carry over classics like the Shadow of the Colossus remake to the next console generation. We've seen how well Microsoft is handling backwards compatibility with its Xbox One consoles (including getting amazing results updating Xbox 360 games to run in 4K on Xbox One X), and something similar on PS5 would be great.

In terms of pure power, the PlayStation 5 has to significantly exceed the power of the Xbox One X. This means featuring more games running in 4K at 60FPS. If the PS5 can deliver about 10 TF of power we'd be happy, as this would allow devs to create games that look a generation ahead of what we've got now.

But what would the dream launch lineup be for the PS5? Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 are hugely anticipated blockbuster games, with the former especially looking to push the performance of whatever system it's on to the very limit. We've also mentioned Ghost of Tsushima and a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and the latter would be the perfect way to kick off a new console cycle from Sony.

The PS5 BC program seems to be very impressive. Not sure why Sony's marketing department isn't advertising these things as heavily as MS is.
Because Sony is a forward thinking company with the focus of releasing more great exclusive titles and wants you to play new games as opposed to MS, launching a machine with no exclusives to play and hence looking back at 'what could've been' 😛

Watch dogs is a mediocre looking, mediocre running (for the specs it demands) game. It should not be a showcase of PC raytracing and performance. I would say metro Exodus ( excluding it's terrible dlss implementation) or even Control is a better showcase for PC's raytracing. I'm fairly confident even the budget rtx 3060 whenever it releases will beat the ps5 in raytracing performance, I could be wrong tho let's see..

I'll gladly play MM than a stinking pile of turd gta clone from Ubisoft with horrid optimisation (common across every Ubisoft games pretty much now)

It's not an open world game.

Watch Dogs Legion is the only other open world game with RT reflections to compare to.
I don't think comparing PC version of watch dogs to Spiderman is a good idea; one is badly running janky multiplatform game and the other is platform exclusive ps5 game originally designed to run on a PS4. I'm just saying the rtx 3080 or 3070 is much more capable than it seems running watch dogs. Spiderman looks great and it would've been a fair camparison if it was on the PC

Hopefully, the shipment to Pakistan takes no more than 10 days. Expecting to receive it before the 25th.

Yeah, I agree. Despite the cutbacks to max reflection distance for animate objects and using reflection probes for large static objects, Watch Dogs Legions is a poorly optimized game. It does do some taxing things RT set to Ultra, such as secondary reflections and covering a wider range of reflective surfaces, but there's no justification for how it performs at the lowest "Medium" setting. The RTX 3090 should be running the game much better than it does with RT set to Medium.

Let's see how Cyberpunk 2077 performs on PC with its suite of RT features. People have upgraded to the "happening" RTX 3070s and 3080s for this game, after all :ROFLMAO:

Yet another case of a PG relic getting PM'ed for defending. Now excuse me while I condense some brain cells off of all those reflected NPCs :ROFLMAO:
Don't mind me, I was just passing through and I'm amused that you guys are still at it 24/7 here :)

Some people would always prefer fluidity over fidelity, as the PS5 was hyped to the extremes to be pulling "120 fps" at 500$.

We all saw how it turned out to be :p

Enjoy your cinematic "30 fps" RT mode folks (Y)

Funny how PC owners feel the need to stroke their ego and to justify their expensive purchases of individual components to feel satisfied by comparing it with consoles aimed at being budget entertainment devices and how you'll always find them "passing through" threads of consoles, which we all know is kind of a codeword for "PM for defending" because recently the support for such has dwindled from the obvious-cliche gang :ROFLMAO:

These are the same people that championed 30fps but now want 60fps modes in all their games 🤣

"30fps is fine"

"Oh wait .. I'll put this game on hold and finish it at 60fps instead"

🤣

That's a misunderstanding on your part. The PS5 wasn't hyped as a 120fps machine. It was promoted as a console that supports 4k/120Hz (note: Hz not fps) via hdmi 2.1. It's up to devs to offer 120fps modes in games that have the performance headroom. Dirt 5 and DMC5 include 1080p/120fps performance modes. Perhaps a future CoD will too, but a majority of the games won't.

Microsoft's maketing for the Xbox Series X heavily focused on 120fps. They also announced that Halo Infinite multiplayer would support 120fps. That's the console you should be complaining about.

New PS5 ad slates PS5 exclusives/first party games coming out in 2021.

MS *really* need to step their game up because all of their acquisitions seem like dead-weight as of right now.

Tentative scheduled releases:

H1 2021 :

  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Returnal
  • Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
  • Destruction AllStars

H2 2021 :

  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • God of War Ragnarok

The ad itself:

While I'm not a fan of GT, I'm really looking forward to both Ratchet and Returnal. 2 of the 3 games that pushed me to get a PS5 at launch, the 3rd one being Demon's Souls. Miles Morales is a nice bonus, but I could've just played that on PS4 instead. Cautiously optimistic about Destruction All-Stars, and it's a PS Plus freebie so will check it out anyway.
