Gotta give props to MS where due, they are really on top of coverage. Every major outlet already has XSX consoles, sure there's no XSX native software, but its a good way to get outlets talking when they start comparing BC load times dropping from 1 minute to 10 seconds.

For the layman that will seem like a huge benefit regardless of whether its a last generation game or not.

Wonder when we'll see some PS5 hands-on, along with the first look at the OS UI.
Sony doesn't seem like they're in any hurry, to their determinant. OS info, UI etc should all have already been revealed by now.

IIRC the PS4 was revealed with its OS and UI in March 2013 when Sony first announced it, this whole announcement cycle has been a shit show for everyone.

I'll conclude this preview with the best news to come out of this venting weirdness: Series X, so far, is the quietest Xbox I've ever tested. Back-compat software runs the Series X to a high enough level to activate the fans and unleash noticeable heat dissipation, but I can barely hear it, even while spending hours in current-gen, open-world romps like Destiny 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

IGN

More importantly, this thing is quiet. It’s almost inaudible when it's idle, and in Red Dead Redemption 2, for instance, it’s still pretty quiet – much more so than the Xbox One X, which gets noticeably louder under full GPU load.
The bottom vent (yes its there) doing its work.

At long last, new consoles are functioning as they should for older games. Great effort by MS.

I tested The Outer Worlds and RDR2 on my SSD they take about the same time as mentioned here. Roughly a second lower but thats within margin of error, so about the same.

I'm assuming these are all unoptimzed games for the Series X.. If thats the case and the hardware is brute forcing these results for unoptimized games then this really is super impressive. I am expecting the result for optimised games to be significant judging by the early impressions.

@ 29:00 Jeff reports that the console runs hot, even in standby mode. The bottom vent (the part that isn't blocked by the stand, at least lol) clearly doing its work.

Similar sentiments expressed here:

What price is the series S going to go for in Pakistan, in December? Are we really limited to having to ask someone to bring it from abroad or fly out ourselves to buy it? I don't want to pay more than 60k for a $300 console.
