Hello,

As the title says, I'm in need of buying a phone for someone. Give me your best suggestions please as I don't buy phones very often. The phone I like is Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, but the only thing I'm confused about is the IPS LCD Display & its black levels.

So what do you all suggest?

Regards~

You wont be getting amoled in that price point, might able to find A51 used for a little more, Note 9s is very well built device, performance is adequate as well.

Yes, I agree that AMOLED comes under higher range phones. I never liked Samsung at all. Plus I'm little paranoid about used stuff.

@murtaza12, you have great knowledge here kindly help please.

9s has 18W charging, now I'm thinking of going for Note 9 Pro with 30W.

Which site is authentic, https://mistore.pk or https://www.xiaomistore.pk

Is online payment safe here through Card or visit their store?

Are these phones PTA Approved?

mistore.pk is legit

I'd recommend ordering with cash on delivery or visiting the store. Some people have had issues with card payment where it charges the card, but the site doesn't accept the order.

They are all PTA approved and come with SmartLink warranty as well.

I'd say ask a friend or someone who owns it and examine the display in person for starters

as for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S Review calculated black levels of around .30 its something I can say decent not that bad

But with IPS panels do note its always a mixed bag ranges vary dramatically from vendor to vendor

For instance I have seen best IPS panels on Likes of iPhone, HTC(some) or even Sony(Newer XZ models)

With Xiaomi I have seen some of their phones have Great IPS and some not so much for Instance POCO had backlight bleed issues and with Note 9S have heard of uneven backlight in some regions of display

Color Calibration, Whitebalance are other factors to consider

and for most of these I'll say best judge is person himself testing it in person(Its all on perspective e.g some like toned down some saturated and vibrant a decent black level might be mediocre for someone, bluish WB might be normal for someone also depends on display you were used to previously)

I have seen and used Note 8 Pro, it is an overall good phone for the package so this being a successor should be better I presume

Thank you for such a detailed post. I took everything in consideration and finally went for the Note 9 Pro 6GB 128GB from mistore.pk with Cash on Delivery.

Always go for a used flagship if your budget is under 50k. I would look for used S9, Pixel 2XL or Oneplus.

Edit: Oh nvm, you already went ahead and bought a Note 9 Pro.
