How can people say their are plot holes lol! They really did an excellent job connecting the story overall. I almost forget what happened in the first half of the game and when came I back, was really impressed on how the story progressed and connected. I know fans are pissed because everything doesn't play out like they want as it is in every case. Take GOT for example. You can never satisfy everyone but calling it a bad game and being negative towards it, you must be an another level of assh*le to say that. Its dark, its complex, its like watching a depressing blockbuster Hollywood flick.

So.. based on what Druckmann said, the building in the title menu after you beat the game is *not* the Rattlers compound, but the place the Fireflies told Abby about on Catalina Island based on a real casino. Meaning Abby and Lev were successfully able to make it to the Fireflies.

She got her happy ending after all, unlike Ellie. I guess that means we won't see Abby in the third game, it should be a continuation of Ellie's story.
Maybe...

Spoiler: show
upon meeting the Fireflies, Abby discovers that they have the means to develop a vaccine. Would put her in a dilemma, perhaps. Plus, it doesn't seem like Ellie went back to Jackson and kind of just wandered off, so tracking her would prove difficult.

ok so they cut alot of content they thought wasn't relative to the games progress but i think they should had added it. its a long game even without it but still would had been nice to see something more about JOEL and his love life.

spoilers below so tread carefully who hasn't finished the game

The Last of Us: Part 2's Cut Content Revealed

Naughty Dog ended up cutting a handful of scenes from The Last of Us: Part 2's final product, including a couple detailing Ellie's love life.

[Warning: Spoilers for The Last of Us: Part 2 below]

Spoiler: show
It turns out there are plenty of scenes and elements that were scrapped from the final version of The Last of Us: Part 2. This leaves fans wondering what the game could’ve been like had these elements not been dropped at the last minute, and from the looks of it, the story would’ve been completely different.
The Last of Us: Part 2 was released on June 19th, 2020, after multiple leaks and delays. Theoriginal The Last of Uslaunched nearly seven years previous, in 2013, and and explored the post-apocalyptic survival story of smuggler Joel and teen Ellie, as he attempted to transport her safely across the United States.

The sequel picks up right where The Last of Us ended and addressed many of the questions fans have about the original game. But fans will likely have even more questions one they learn what scenes were scrapped from The Last of Us: Part 2 and why.

Joel Almost Had A Girlfriend In The Last Of Us 2

One thing that would have drastically changed the story had it been included was the role of Esther, one of Joel’s girlfriends. “Joel had a girlfriend in the original concept of this game. Her name was Esther.” TLOU2 co-writer Halley Gross explained last month, Washington Post reports. Players were meant to be introduced to her through flashbacks roughly seven hours into The Last of Us: Part 2, and an important scene would’ve had Joel and Ellie visit her in a nearby town. During the encounter, the duo would find Esther with an infected bite, trying to treat the injury herself. Joel would then instruct Ellie to go outside and fetch water, but she would then hear a gunshot when she’s not far away from Esther’s home. “And you don’t know whether Esther killed herself or if Joel put a bullet in her head, but you know that this was going to happen,” Gross added. Ultimately, however, the entire character was scrapped.
The role of Esther would’ve had important implications for how Ellie handled Joel lying to herabout the Fireflies and the cure. Gross tells the Post the incident would’ve pushed Ellie to later strike up a conversation with Joel about the lie. The developers were planning on having Ellie say something to the effect of “If there had been a cure, we wouldn’t be here,” leading the two characters to talk about the touchy subject. But Gross says they chose not to go this route because of the time it would’ve taken to introduce and develop Esther as a character in the storyline. They also wanted to prevent the story from being too focused on Joel rather than Ellie.

TLOU2 Wanted More Focus On Ellie’s Love Life

It’s not just Joel whose romantic interest was scrapped from the final product. The Last of Us: Part 2 was originally going to have more focus on Ellie’s ex-girlfriend Cat. Specifically, the dance scene where Ellie and Dina have their first kiss in the bar was going to be a playable scene, where Cat attempts to interact with the two lovebirds. In the end, there are a few mentions of Cat in the game – she’s the one who helped Ellie cover her bite mark in tattoos. But again, for the sake of length, the character was reduced.

There was also supposed to be more interaction between Ellie and Dina, namely addressing the fact the two women knew each other for so long before becoming romantically involved. One scene, in the beginning, would’ve had Ellie tell Dina she thought she was stringing her along because of Dina’s reputation for being flirty. Ultimately, however, the scene was not included in the final product because it introduced conflict too early on in the storyline. “Initially, the scene that we wrote just over-steered this conflict that exists between the two girls,” Gross explained. “And it just became melodramatic, the first time we shot that scene.”

Ellie Was Supposed To Meet The Scars In TLOU2

Players are introduced to the Seraphite’s elaborate village while playing as Abby, but the developers originally thought they would also explore it from Ellie’s perspective, too. “I think originally, she got shipwrecked on the island in a storm and was traversing through to try to get back home to the theatre [where she takes refuge],” Gross explained of the deleted scene.

In fact, Ellie’s Seattle adventures in The Last of Us: Part 2 were meant to extend for five days, not just three. On the fourth day, she would have taken a boat to the Scar’s island before it was burned down. Gross explained that the idea was originally tanked when it was decided it didn’t help the progress of the story, though she says the gameplay and set up would’ve been “cool.”She added that the scene was meant to help humanize the Scars and their community, thereby making players feel empathetic when their village was eventually burned to the ground.

There are many elements The Last of Us 2 decided to cut form the final product, but it ultimately didn’t help prevent the game from being so divisive.

I don't think so because...

Spoiler: show
when you play the hospital flashback with Ellie, she finds a recording where the voice says even if they find another immune, it's all but pointless because that doctor was the worlds leading physician for the kind of extraction they needed to do, and Joel killed him.

Unless there is a similar plot-convenient surgeon in that new location as well.

I think the first game's plot of Ellie's immunity being a story point has finished its course and will not be brought up again.

The only person on the planet who is immune to virus is somehow not the center point of a zombie apocalypse story. That is not only lame it is downright baffling. Nobody takes game stories seriously and then people ask why.

We don't know if Ellie is the only immune person, did you even read the spoiler ?

Spoiler: show
the fireflies outright say even if they find another immune person it's pointless because the only capable surgeon all the fireflies knew about is now dead.

The whole point of the first games ending is how Joel fucked all of humanity because he didn't want to lose another daughter.

Yar ek to tum log bongi baate karte ho phir bolte ho why are ND fans so mean to us :looking:

In the first game, the doctor's recording indicates that there actually were other immune cases (@ 03:47):

Also, just remembered that the powers that be within the Fireflies had asked Marlene to kill Joel before he had made a mess of things. Not sure if they were any better.

Looks like @faraany3k is done with the game. Koi final thoughts hi bata dou :p
Graphics 10/10
Sound Design 9/10
Gameplay 8/10
Story 5/10

Overall: 8

Graphics are absolutely gorgeous with probably the best implementation of HDR I have seen till now. Environmental design along with excellent sound design is the reason why you want to stay in this world that ND has created. There animation department especially face animators have set a bar so high it will be difficult to attain by anyone other than Rockstar or some other AAA studio. No one has that kind of money or time.

I really tried to like the new characters but sadly not one of them stands out. Probably Tommy because he remained consistent and was not altered to serve the needs of story. The plot was all over the place and most of it did not matter in grand scheme of things. Game definitely has pacing issues. The salvaging system can be improved. At times it felt like I was playing a Battleroyale game and collecting stuff before a big fight. It was also detrimental to immersion as I was able to predict a big fight when game suddenly showers me with ammo and raw materials. I have played lots of stealth focused games and somehow this game feels very restricted with its moveset. In the big ending fights, I just sat behind the cover and keep killing the baddies with little to no trouble. The encounters feel so visceral because of animation and sound design, not because gameplay improvements.

Yes, ND can magically bring new Siblings to serve the plot, but they do not have another living surgeon in all of USA, when the research is already done and operating procedure is left on the brain of Ellie. C'mon the whole focus of ND was political pandering to represent everyone. I guess Neil woke up on the wrong side of history, because during development of Last of Us 2, this woke culture was on the rise, but since then, the alt-right across the world are fighting back. That is the reason why this game is getting so much hate.

I noticed her...

Spoiler: show
...wearing Dina's bracelet during the ending, but assumed she'd given it to Ellie at some point while they were living together at the farm. During the spoilercast, Neil and Ashley seem to suggest that Ellie just wandered off towards the end. Then again, no one asked them about this little detail.

Before heading to Santa Barbara, you find a note from Jesse's parents that says the 3 of them should consider living with them at Jackson. If Ellie really did reconcile with Dina, they're probably living with Jesse's parents. Definitely a happy ending for both Abby and Ellie if this is the case.

I have played lots of stealth focused games and somehow this game feels very restricted with its moveset.
I agree about the stealth-related options being restricted compared to something like MGSV and Dishonored 2; Ellie can't move around bodies and doesn't have non-lethal weapons. That said, neither MGSV nor Dishonored 2 have encounters that vary as much as they do in TLOU2. Most of the advanced stealth options are useless against the infected, who use sound and echo location to track you and don't go into alert mode if they discover an infected corpse you took out. Dragging bodies is useless and would only get in the way when, say, you're up against a group of stalkers. Similarly, the use of non-lethal weapons would have no effect on the infected.

Naughty Dog's approach with stealth is very clear: mechanics that function across all enemy types. Plus, TLOU2 leans more towards action than stealth. As far as action goes, mechanics like dodge or the ability to drop into reverse prone are things I haven't come across in other games of similar nature.

Game never once explained why Ellie has not killed Abby. They never sat down and spoke, Ellie does not know is she a good person or bad. Yes we as players know Abby's story but Ellie has no idea. Okay Ellie can see that Joel is a bad person but what about the death of Jessie. Who will avenge him. Abby herself is a despicable human being. She does not care about her friends, her group, her love interest and she does not have the courage to thank Ellie when she saved her from certain death. I do not know what they were trying to do with the story.

We are left with these two ladies who have no clue how the world works and they only thing they are good at is killing people with shivs. This is what we get after getting rid of Joel. Its like Eidos kills of Hitman and instead of him they have a large female Arnold Schwarzenegger.
