Are you talking about light bleeding. Yes it is visible in dark scenes in dark environment. Yes you can install livenettv. As for settings, I am using default ones.

So I got to review TCL 75P8M for a few days, it retails for 279,900/-, it's 75" 4K HDR10+, to be honest the picture quality is not better than Hisense U7A, nits are lower, and because of that picture doesn't look very good, picture does not have that brilliance, i.e., it's not bright enough while retaining black levels, colours don't pop that much, I played with all the settings but no matter what you do, you cannot get good picture out of it, for Cable TV viewing it would be great but I do not recommend it for movies. At this price point you can get a premium 55" TV like a Sony/LG OLED or Samsung QLED but that would be 20" smaller than a 75", or you may look into Hisense 75U9A if you can find it at a discount lower than its market price of 321,000/-. So my advice would again be: audition the TVs at your price point and buy whichever suites your needs best.

I have the same model in the 65" variant and can you help me in this? I am setting the TV to 1080p120Hz using Nvidia custom resolution and I am getting very bad screen tearing.

Is this also the case for you and what should I do?

If you create custom resolution with Nvidia Control Panel then you have to set it to 1080p120hz every time before gaming and set it back to 2160p60hz for normal use, plus there is no fine tuning. I use CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) . With CRU you can add the custom resolution to the EDID and then the graphic card picks up those resolutions as available resolutions and they they show up in-game as well. So I run my desktop at 2160p60hz and set each game differently, like FPS games are set at 1080p120fps.

Before you run CRU, delete the custom resolutions or clean install your Nvidia drivers. Create custom resolution in CRU. I use Automatic - LCD Native, you can find the setting that gives least amount of tearing, if required use V-Sync in-game.

In depth and informative review, i am planning to buy a 55" led tv this November. Purpose of this tv would be primarily serve as gaming screen. Ill' use a Alienware X51 as a HTPC and a budget console killer with this TV. What you suggest TCL P8(which i shortlisted) or Hisense 55U7A.

Hi, from my own experience with 55U7A and 75P8M (55P8 has similar PQ), the Hisense 55U7A has higher nits, better backlight and a much more brilliant picture. Picture in P8 is a bit bland because the panel isn't bright enough, because of lower nits the colours don't pop, and if you increase the brightness or contrast then the picture fades. I would suggest that you audition both TVs side by side and decide for yourself as the difference is very clear. I would compare 55U7A with Samsung MU8000 in performance, but it's pricier.

Thanks what about warranty, which is better. If i recall it correctly you encountered some issues with your Hisense. Did it got sorted out without any hassle? Furthermore, i also reside in ISB/RWP periphery from where should i buy?

It's in my first post, at the bottom with updates, TLDR; a vertical line appeared, I thought it was dead pixels, it went away after a power cycle and did not happen again since then, Hisense offered to replace the TV with a new one, but when the service guy came and the fault wasn't there, he told me that they can't replace a TV with no fault, anyways Hisense told me that the U7A has a 2 year panel warranty and they will replace the panel if the fault happens again, till now there has been no issue Alhamdolillah. Their Rawalpindi service centre is in commercial market, close to Tehzeeb Bakery, when I called them with my complaint I found them very responsive and co-operative, but back then they were a new company trying to make a good name, haven't had any interaction since then.

Gulnoor market on murree road, close to RGH (benazir hospital) is the biggest electronics market here, you'll find competitive prices there, Friends Corporation, Sunny Electronics and Umar Electronics are the biggest shops there. Umar Electronics has a huge TV display centre with Hisense TVs too (if you asked them nicely, they will put your selected TVs side by side for comparison with same input). There are also electronics shop on chandni chowk in shahnaz plaza. Just remember that even if the shopkeeper shows you wholesale price on a price list and offers you that, they still have a lot of margin below wholesale price, when they buy stock at off season and/or at upfront cash, then they get a lot of discount on wholesale price. So, negotiate and check lowest price on all shops that are authorised dealers of Hisense. Also, never trust advise of a shopkeeper, he will always try to sell you the product that he has highest margin of profit in, or the product which he has in excess stock.

@Simonsayz is hisense h8f or h9f available in pk ? looks like u7a is the only highend hisense tv available in pk
how is tcl c8 campare to u7a
Their top tier model in Pakistan is U9A, only available in 75" as 75U9A https://hisense.com.pk/u9a/ . Hisense Middle East has the ULED & OLED lineup as well in their Premium TVs https://hisenseme.com/all-television/?filter=3d-tv , but I haven't seen them in Pakistan market yet, can't comment on features or comparison with U7A. but you can check them out. They launched their Air Conditioners in Pakistan as well.

I had the chance to review TCL C8 and P8 and compare it to my U7A and Q7 QLED, in short I was not impressed with either of them, U7A has higher nits than C8 and P8 and offers a better and brilliant picture. The Backlight matters a lot, higher the nits, the TV can present a picture with deeper blacks, hence the colours look great, the picture has that brilliance yet it shows all the detail in dark scenes. Now if the backlight is weak, not enough nits, then you have to increase brightness to get a details, but THAT greys out the dark scenes and make colours look a bit faded, ALSO, a huge difference is the backlight control, in C8 & P8 I observed some edge bleeding and uniformity issues, although they were minor but U7A looked better in this regard. In short that is the problem with C8 and P8, the panel is not bright enough. I would suggest that you audition them side by side with same input and check for yourself, most of the times these minor details don't bother people and other considerations like availability and pricing have to be factored in as well.

I cannot find U9A any longer on their site. Does anyone have any idea if they are withdrawning. In Pakistan they have very limited variety.

Info is on their website : https://hisense.com.pk/u9a/
They do not sell on their website, it was available on Daraz on Hisense's company store https://www.daraz.pk/shop/hisense but it's sold out long ago, if you can find any in the market it is still a steal considering their A6100 series is selling for more than U7A and you can not even find U7A on the market anymore

You seem to have a lot of info on the U7A. I'm considering getting the 50inch variant from someone (can't find it new, this one is used but in perfect condition).

Is the 50inch variant missing some features? I couldn't find anything about it supporting 120hz. Is anything else missing? Also, what would in your opinion be a fair price for a 1.5 year old 50inch U7A?

50U7A is identical in features to 55 & 65 U7A models, the only difference being that bigger screen size has more dimming zones which is the case in every LED TV with dimmable zones.

Regarding buying used LED TVs, well it depends on the usage of the first owner. LED TVs have a Backlight or Edge light which has a usage life in hours like any other light bulb and it's luminance reduces with usage. So, it depends, on how much it was used, if it was a display showroom TV which was running on showcase mode at full blast for hours everyday for 1.5 years, I wouldn't buy it but if it was in a household with moderate usage and it seems fine to your eye on tests, then it might be worthwhile if the price is right. What is the asking price if I may ask.

So run some tests, a good basic test is a white background, then light grey then dark grey background to check for dirty screen effect, lightbleed, irregular dimming, dead pixels and effective nits/peak brightness. The older the LED TV gets, the nits drop and the screens also develop a dirty screen effect. These TVs have only two major components, Backlight and Motherboard, so check all inputs as well. Anyways, best of luck.
