As Salam o Alikum Guys

I make up my mind to upgrade my system. I was using i5 6600 since almost one year. But in low budget, it is very difficult to build a good and powerful enough in these days.

I am interested in i5 9400f but there is another option of ryzen 2600 or 3600 but motherboards for ryzen processors are very expensive.

So, in short i need you guys to suggest me good setup. My basic use of pc is gaming only.

My created thread is here https://www.pakgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291615&

If someone is interested in buying my package do let me know. My number is availble in the thread.

Thank you guys in advance

I would say go for the i5. Ryzens in Pakistan are way too expensive to be worth their prices.

Ryzen 5 3600 costs like 36k, it absolutely stomps any i5s you throw at it. It is more future proof as having 12 threads, games like bfv will have better 1 percent lows on it. Its IPC has caught up with intel. It can be overcloked on any b450 motherboard. your eyes closed.

Can you link me the video where ryzen 3600 is "stomping" the core i5 9400f and i5 9600k in games? Much appreciated.

They are head to head in the gaming sense. As I mentioned before you can overclock 3600 on msi b450 tomahawk motherboard which costs like 19k these days, you get better performance. You get SMT which offers future proofing. You get to update your processor down the line to zen 2+ or 3 as AMD has said that they would support AM4 till 2020. In case of 9600f, you cant overclock it and it doesn't have SMT. 9600K can be overclocked but you need a z390 motherboard.

Yes you are right it's the best option but unfortunately i can't afford a processor of Rs. 36000/- with a motherboard of Rs. 20000/- because my maximum budget is below 50k :(

I suggest you stick with what you have. Why are you selling? You won't get a good price because cheaper options are available in the market:

As for ryzen if you were going to buy one you would buy the cpu via aliexpress and the mobo and everything else locally. The CPU is priced 2x what it sells for on aliexpress. IDK why they think they can get away with that pricing here.

I am not really interested in Ryzen because of its prices in Pakistan. I am not a tech addict etc but in my limited opinion Ryzen is useless for mid level games like me. Because i5 9400f is costing around 25/26k which can easily compete Ryzen 3600 costing around 35/36k (non oc'ed).
But yes, Ryzen 3600 is future proof and that's for sure.

9400f and ryzen 3600 are pretty much on par in gaming and sometimes 9400f is even a few fps ahead. It also cost 10k less then the ryzen 3600 and it also supports cheapest of intel motherboards since it's a locked processor. That 10k could be put in a better GPU. On the other hand, 9600k blows ryzen 3600 out of the water and winning in 90% of titles. Intel is just better value for money here in Pakistan.
