I don't know what your definition of "adequately" is (something that bodes well for your laptop perhaps based on recent discussions? :p), but its mentioned in the video that i7 7700k keeps you north of 60fps, so 4 cores are fine but hyper-threading is needed for 60fps. This was also true for Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Also worth mentioning that CPU patch was released yesterday so these benches will have to be redone.

Added an additional launch argument (-cpuLoadRebalancing) to rebalance workload on the CPU cores and avoid hitting an edge-case in certain NVIDIA graphics card drivers that causes significant stalls on 4-core and 6-core CPUs

Lol okay 6 core guy. Whatever you say.

That 6 core statement was made for Ryzen cpus and that too for the "adequate" 60fps gameplay but Chandoo kinda conveniently left that out for some reason.

In general, the video concludes that a 4 core/ 4 thread cpu cannot do 60fps in this game.

The latest patch if Reddit is too go by, has bring significant optimisations specially related to CPU stuttering. So this video is all but useless. DF should have waited for the patch. Necrokiller

Don't recall Rockstar having regional pricing but the game is priced at $45 in Pakistan, and is currently 20% off, so its $36.

Not that I'm buying :p

Watch a Red Dead Online hacker turn me into a walking stick of dynamite | PC Gamer

In the video above (also here on YouTube) you can see me in Red Dead Online, standing outside the Valentine gunsmith and cleaning off my weapon so I could shop for upgrade components. As I finished wiping the grime from my carbine repeater, I saw a spark run up my character's back, as if a dynamite fuse had been woven into my leather coat. A couple splinters of wood showered down around me and I heard a few nearby NPCs call out in surprise.

I put away my repeater and looked around as explosions and sparks began consuming my torso. For .0003 seconds I thought it might be a glitch, because in the few hours I'd been playing Red Dead Online that night, I'd had a bounty who was tied to the back of my horse suddenly vanish and a trader delivery mission give me an infinite loading screen. Red Dead Online has plenty of glitches.

But as my clothing continued to sizzle and smoke I knew it wasn't a glitch. As the violent fireworks reached my bowler-hatted head I abruptly died, killed by a player named Wizard42541. Red Dead Online has glitches, but it also has hackers.

The author clearly doesn't know jack shit about online gaming on PC. He should be playing on the good servers

The game also only sold 400k on EGS in it's first month. Which for a game of this stature is basically a big bomba.

Let's see if people were waiting for the Steam release.

If Borderlands 3 can sell ~1.8 million on EGS in its first month then clearly Rockstar fucked up.

[h=1]Red Dead Redemption PC fan project shut down following lawsuit[/h]

The developer said he’s in talks with Take-Two already

Take-Two Interactive has shut down a Red Dead Redemption fan project after filing a lawsuit against developer Johnathon Wyckoff on Dec. 26. Wyckoff is the creator behind a fan project called “Red Dead Redemption Damned Enhancement Project,” which was reportedly intended to “[enhance] graphics and visuals in Take-Two’s Red Dead Redemption game” and make it playable on Windows PC — “a platform for which Take-Two itself has not yet released the Read Dead Redemption [sic] game,” according to the lawsuit.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was released on PC earlier this year, but the original game never came to personal computers, just consoles. (The only way to play Red Dead Redemption on PC was through Sony’s streaming service, PlayStation Now.)
Wyckoff posted in September that the Red Dead Redemption Damned Enhancement Project was “halted,” but later resumed working on it in November. He announced the cancellation of the project on Dec. 27, after the lawsuit was filed in a New York court, as first spotted by Torrent Freak.
“Take Two fine you win,” Wyckoff tweeted. “RDR1 project cancelled. Stop the law suit i have a damn life. You guys should had waited i was gonna contact you this week. Geez you don’t need to sue. Despite what you think you guys really killed modding.” Wyckoff later tweeted that he was “in talks” with Take-Two.
Take-Two’s lawyers alleged that Wyckoff “publicly stated intent to distribute unauthorized software files that would dramatically change the content of Take-Two’s video games,” including importing the Red Dead Redemption map into Red Dead Redemption 2 and allowing players to access his “enhanced” version of Red Dead Redemption on PC. The company said it has “repeatedly” asked Wyckoff to stop.
Several screenshots — from Discord, Twitter, and various forums — published in the suit demonstrate Wyckoff’s continued work on the project. Wyckoff reiterated in tweets that it’s a modding project and not infringement.
Neither Take-Two nor Wyckoff have responded to Polygon’s inquiries before publication time.
