is anyone facing over billing from TES?
Yes Yes! They charged me for 2 months extra and the email thread went on for like 5 months. I was the one getting them to get it sorted. Their billing department has to be the most idiotic, lazy and incompetent I have ever come across in my life. Then when it got fixed, the ONT device died. It took them 6 days to replace that after millions of calls.

TES service quality has fallen so low in the past few months or so. Its like world call levels of bad. I hope I dont have to correspond with them over anything for atleast a year for it to wash over.

I kept telling them on call to stop being like worldcall and the representative would be just embarrassed and say..."Yes sir you are right... IshaAllah kal first half theek hojaega" Their first half was fuckin 12 in the night after 5 days.

They need to get their shit together asap.

I have ordered the Azadi pkg of 20mbps + 3 IPTVs and planing to get the fourth iptv as well. My question is if using IPTVs affects the internet speed because all STBs will be connect via ethernet cable. If all 3 TVs are turned on at the same time, will i see a decrease in the internet speed ?

A minimal effect, if any. IPTVs will most likely be streamed locally from TES's servers in Karachi.

Besides, bandwidth allocated for IPTV is separate from the internet.

Confirm with TES beforehand though.

I've had the worst experience with transworld. In the past 2 weeks I had two disconnections. The first time it took 5 days and the second time 4 days, lol what era are they living in. I've been using stormfiber for 2 years, they are quick to fix any issue the same or atleast the next day. I was planing to switch but nah, I'm all good. I complained everyday at the UAN and was told they'll fix it in the next 12 working hours which I didn't know their 12 working hours mean 5 days. Multiple repair guys who visited my premises acknowledged 'sab kamchor hain yahan'. The sales guy from Karachi 'Waqas Maqbool' who visited my premises for payment. After I paid for the new connection, he didn’t pick my calls or reply to my texts. All he cared was the number of connections he sells per month for his extra bonus and not care for the customer service because it doesn't concern his paycheck. He replied by text after a week saying “sorry for that”. What a di*khead.
I paid for the full month. By the end of this month, I'll have internet for just 9 days and 3 iptvs for 5 days. They charged me Rs. 5133 for the full month. It will be another mess fixing this issue as you all have mentioned above. I'm better with terminating their connection.
So I've emailed them to terminate my connection.

Update: It has been terminated. Atleast they are fast at terminating. :) shitty transworld and its poop employees.

Bhaioun Please if anyone knows a method to get a proper public ip (instead of their carrier grade nat) for free/NAT TYPE 2 then please tell me because they again and again force me to purchase a static ip from them for about 300 pkr. monthly

You won't get it for free anymore since it is a business decision from them to charge for it (call them greedy if you want). Us old users have it for free because we had it from the start (2017).

Would be nice if when sharing your experiences, do state which city you're from so all users are aware which areas are suffering most from the issues.

Yes I faced billings issues since October 2018.

I resolved the issue by giving them proof for online transfers to their bank accounts and screenshots.

It's resolved now.

Keep giving them proofs there online banking payment method was messed up.

They tell you to do a physical deposit now in there bank because for some odd reason they can't track online payments into there bank account for some reason I don't know why.

So I've been using their connection for several months now and its been quite stable, both down and up speeds are symmetric all the time and the best part, speed is quite the same on almost ALL of the servers around the world which is hands down amazing! (Yes I've done quite a lot of speedtests and pingtests).

Pings have been good as well. To Dubai (20ms average), Singapore (75ms average) and Europe as well. I get around 120ms on French servers (probably the same around nearby areas as well?) which is quite good (calling all gamers?).

Netflix, PrimeVideo and Youtube streaming works perfect! There's virtually no packet loss or jitter while connected wired or wirelessly which is brilliant. For 20Mbps connection they provide a Huawei HG8245H and the coverage of that gateway/router is probably the best I have experienced so far. Everything is rainbows and unicorns.

BUT
Now, here's the major setback:

They have blocked ALL major ports! Be it SSH, HTTPS, TCP, UDP and even Remote Server! Which means that the NAT type is Strict! And I had a lot of argument about this with them which started when I requested them to unblock certain ports on my connection. They keep insisting you on purchasing a Static IP which they say, and I quote "is required to open port forwarding" which is NOT true. Static IP is required only to be set internally on the device to which you want to forward the port to and not externally. But even after much argument they did not unblock any of my ports.

If you are someone who wants to host game servers or FTP server or any other type of Remote server to which you want other users to connect to you and be able to see you externally, then you may want to have a Static IP and all your problems are solved. If you don't want a Static IP then the simple solution would be to look for another ISP.

But apart from the NAT type stuff, they provide a solid connection and meh, their customer support is not bad, they resolve your queries very soon and their customer service division is there to help you via email. But its a sad thing that even if you want to change the DNS server, you can't do that yourself by logging into the router itself. You have to email the csd so that they can change the DNS server for you because they have some sort of master key for the device. Amazing no? Someone ELSE has control over YOUR connection in YOUR home for which YOU are paying for.

In the end I can say their service is pretty good.

I guess that's it. Thanks for reading!

Here's a list of all the common ports:

They use CG-NAT which is why all ports are closed. They assign you a private IP address, and the external IP is assigned to their edge router which is shared with you and a few other people. TES used to offer real public IPs for free, but they don't anymore.

Static IP for 300/month is the only way to get a real IP now. Once you do that, any ports you want will be accessible.

As for custom DNS, you can control whatever you want if you ask them to put the ONT in bridge mode and dial the connection from your own router.

For that it would require me to invest in a separate router since they provide a combo. And for a 20mbps connection I don't think that's feasible but that's just my opinion. But its just as basic as changing a DNS server setting which I think they should allow the user to change.

Guys I’d love to know if anybody has any experience about Transworld TV service working from own router (i.e. ONT in bridge mode and connected to separate router).

Basically I ordered 2 TV boxes from TES and their installation team visited last night. After installing the boxes, the TV service just wouldn’t work. The boxes have internet (Youtube is playing videos) but the TV service just doesn’t come up. The line men kept saying that it’d work if connected to some port of ONT. I tried to explain them that it wouldn’t work (because ONT is in bridge mode) but they kept on insisting. Finally gave up and let them have a go, and obviously it didn’t work.

I also talked to their technical guy and explained to them my setup. I’ve got:

ONT (Bridge Mode) ---> Router ---> 2 switches (8 ports each) ---> Pihole/PCs/TVs/PS4

Their technical guy seemed to understand this and told me to plug the Router to ONT Port 4 (instead of Port 1) and it should be configured. Tried that and TV service still didn’t work. Since it was getting really late in the night, I told their team to visit tomorrow. They also suggested that there maybe some more technical people in the morning who could get this sorted.

So guys, if anybody has any experience/ideas on this please share. I’ll try to keep this post updated with my experience.

Maybe if you configure your own router to dial the connection to their TV IPs, it might work? You'd probably have to take settings from them.

After all, in bridge mode, your own router dials the connection, right?

Or - stop the ports from being restricted to specific ports (instead of TG being reserved for port 4, for instance, open it up to all ports).

Usually ports 1 and 2 are assigned for IPTV on Huawei ONTs. They usually have an internal private IP assigned for the TV service on a separate VLAN from internet.

So it should work despite the ONT being in bridge mode for internet.

Don't connect the TV STBs through a switch, they have to be plugged directly to the ONT.

Seems like a config issue from TES's end because your ONT is in bridge mode. Try asking if you can get connected to 'Saad' from engineering, he can do real-time configurations while you're on the phone with him.
