Always use Singapore Post because it can be tracked & usually arrives within 15 days. 96$ is a lot, you are most likely to pay duty unless you are lucky, and custom officer don't check/open parcel
I think if the customs amount is small then postman collects it otherwise you get a letter regarding your Product and paying customs for it. Have witnessed the former myself when had to pay 3k for a pair of headphones. Neighbour got the letter when they imported items in bulk.

They are still working on the logistics so took them a month to get all my items to me in one go with cheaper rates than the ones of aliexpress.

I need some a suggestion from you guys. I want to buy an LED video light from Aliexpress. It is not available anywhere in Pakistan. And the stores here are taking longer to order, and are saying they will charge 3-4k more. On Aliexpress, only option for delivery is DHL and says will deliver 7-14 days approx. The store on Aliexpress is reliable as it is the official store of the light manufacturer. What I am concerned about is customs, because the light is pretty expensive at 270 USD. Is it likely to be stuck in customs, even when ordering through DHL? Should I order or not? What about duty? The package isn't that big: think of any big headphone box.
Get ready to pay hefty duty if you get it through private courier like DHL, Fedex etc. I ordered an electric lock worth 80$ and i have to pay 5000 in custom charges. Do the maths for $270, even if you undervalue it they are still going to charge hefty duty because they think if you can bear the high cost of DHL which is considered iPhone of Courier services you can also pay heavy custom duties which in most cases are not less than 50% of invoice amount, usually more than that.
Coming to your second question, If its not a prohibited item which needs NOC or banned for import, it will most likely to clear on its own & you will be presented an Invoice of Custom charges (DHL will call you to pay the amount on your behalf). After that you will get it at your address.
In second scenario, They will give you Document of arrival, and you have to go to DHL Office at Airport, Custom officer will open the parcel for inspection and will charge duty which you can pay on spot and can move away with your parcel.
Your best bet is to contact supplier and force them to send through other medium like Singapore Post etc, at least you can negotiate to custom officers at PakPost office, if you think you can do that too with DHL, Go Ahead.
Are sex toys like fleshlight's banned for import? i checked fedex list of banned items and it does not mention sex toys, only viagra. I have a an item with todal cost of $6 sent via China registered Air Mail at Lahore International Mail Office that I received a letter for today, and I am wondering if they might create problems for me or not. Any thoughts on this?

Yes, They are banned, Once i went to Custom's Auction Warehouse and in charge person told me that someone imported sex dolls lol, they were stopped by custom and will be disposed off.
They usually don't even open the low cost parcel and send it straight away to customer, unless offcourse item is in banned list like yours, so i doubt you are going to get it.
When I checked the Fedex list of banned items to Pakistan, silicon based sex toy (fleshlight) does not appear on ths list.
Furthermore, why would they send me a letter to come clear it from international mail office if it is banned and they won't give it to me anyway. Are they going to create legal problems for me or something?
Please let me know as now I am quite worried about this whole situation.
Fedex is just a courier company, the list you are referring might be their own list of banned items. Pakistan custom and several other govt authorities publish list on their own, moreover if item is not in banned list, it doesn't mean its allowed to be imported.

Of course you are right that even if it isn't banned, the customs people can make their own rules and do whatever they want.
My question to you is that when I go to their office, and they give me trouble or threaten me in some way, what are my options? Can I just tell them to destroy or send back the item, and walk out?
What if they take some kind of legal proceedings against me? On the notice that they sent me (and I think this is just the general notice that everyone gets and is not specific to me), they say that any item left unclaimed for 20 days they can start legal proceedings under the customs act against the recipient.
Any advice or thoughts?

I ordered a Zoom H1n audio recorder for almost 97 USD on 1st June. Received it today That's un-f*ckingbelievable. In 12 days! What's more, no customs duty It was being sold for like 3K more here in Pakistani stores. I was worried they were gonna slap me a hefty duty - it's a electronic device, and it's not cheap.. But, no! Only 2 AAA cells were missing - I don't know whether they fell out at customs checking or what, but they were worthless anyway

Video recording. It's one of the most versatile tools if you record videos.
I used AliExpress Standard Shipping. After putting the order, I regretted shipping it with this method, because I thought it might be misplaced. But it came through fine! Although tracking wasn't the best. I received email 2 days ago that the item had entered Pakistan, and the Pakistan Post guy dropped it at home today
