My chrome browser started acting up yesterday. Once I turn on my laptop from a shutdown (not from sleep), chrome works fine for a few minutes, sometimes 5 and sometimes 10. Then it lags a LOT. websites load very slow, even typing lags. Even the setting panel or bookmarks panel lags with approx 0.3 sec delay after every 0.3 seconds. It basically turns into a pulse. Lag, work, lag, work.
The issue does not appear on Edge.
I have tried turning off the hardware acceleration option and it hasn't worked.
My laptop is 2014 Dell XPS 15. Core i7, 16gb ram, 512 ssd.
Please help. I tried importing my passwords to Edge but it didn't work but even if it had, I still want chrome to work lag free.
