MSCS from NUST?

Which university is better for Masters in MSCS (Software Eng/Data Science). Both are my options.
Is NUST better? My CGPA is 2.9
If NUST is better, what's the procedure of taking admission there?

Kindly recommend other affordable universities too. Thanks.

For using the term "better" there must be more than two things to compare each other with.

SEECS (NUST) is no doubt one of the best departments here with high tech labs and faculty.

Procedure is to appear on GAT, score more than 75 (since you have a low CGPA) and ace your interviews. Since SEECS closes at a very high merit, I'd recommend you to also apply at some other colleges as well.

But I see there requirement is 2.5. Well GAT requirements?

Official requirements are 2.5 CGPA and 50 GAT score. However nobody gets in with those scores. In your situation, atleast 70-75 GAT would be required.

FAST is also very good in terms of CS. And Karachi and Lahore ones are the best.

I'm from Karachi, but I can't study here due to some reasons, I'd be taking Lahore or Isb campus for FAST. Preference is Isb because of living standards there.

COMSATS Islamabad is also a good option for you. COMSATS has been top university in CS for a long time. furthermore, MS-CS is more about research than about the study. You have 8 subjects and a thesis while mostly your teachers want you to do research work even in these 8 subjects. IMO in MS-CS your concentration is always very important thing. moreover, if you want to take admission in MS first take a look at these top universities and their faculty their area of expertise with respect to the field you are interested in.

I'm currently hearing aout ITC Lahore. Is that really that competing in the market? What about their faculty and MSDS MSCS depart?

no choose a university where there is experienced faculty and good research environment. however, ITC is offering some good scholarships for MS and PHD. IMO choose a university from this list:

check CS and IT category where you will see top universities according to HEC ranking. one thing to note here is that these rankings are mostly due to most research in the field.
