And I have actually been thinking about running some games on my old core i5, but had no idea where to start with GPUs for cheap (totally a newb in computer gaming). So this was entertaining + massively helpful.

the thing is that i noticed alot of pakistanis dont have basic knowledge about pc so im trying to guide everyone so that we can promote gaming even further and will create awareness about computer stuff [emoji846]
about your pc, whats your budget for gpu so that i could recommend you one...

That would be really nice of you :D

I'm a poor guy so my budget is around 5k-6k. I'm not looking for anything ground-breaking. In fact, I have missed almost every good game released in the last 10 years, so I just want a GPU that can play games like RE 6, Hitman: Absolution, BioShock, Deadly Premonition etc at good settings. The most recent game I want to play is still 3 years old (The Phantom Pain).

Can I get a GPU that can play these games in my budget? Also, my PSU is only 300w, so it shouldn't be too power-hungry..

Not OP. But I would suggest a GTX 750 ti. It doesn't require an external power source and will work directly from the PCI Express slot. Power wise it's equivalent to a base Xbox one roughly. Just make sure you have at least 6gb ram if you want to game comfortably

aww, its a bummer that you only have 300w psu or else i would have suggested you many great gpu's that runs on a 400w psu, thou you can also upgrade your psu in 1k to 400w and buy a 5k card with it :')

apart from that 6k is a really great budget to play casual games, the only card that i could recommend you which will be able to run on a 300w psu is a gtx 750 1gb ddr5. its a perfect card and can run all the games till 2015 on high settings and 2016/17 games on med-low settings, its price varies from 6k-6.5k (a little over the budget but damn this card is worth it)

I am not poor per se but situation meri bhi kuch aisi hai k i have missed so much in between :(
