The Exynos issues were fixed in May's update. No point in getting Snapdragon variant, the unlocked one doesn't even get monthly updates.

Android P releases in August and if Samsung takes full advantage of Project Treble, we can see P on the S9 as early as November/December.

Performance is pretty good and so is the battery life after a little bit of fine tuning with the kernel that Samsung did with the last 3 updates.

Do u have first hand experience of s9 or have you read on Internet the performance improvements you mentioned in your post?

I have an Exynos S9+.

Have tested out every single build released for it including the ones that weren't released for Pakistan.

For software updates, I'm just gonna say this applies to all 3 phones you mentioned. The S9, OP6 and P20 are each of the manufacturers first phones with Project Treble, so I'm not sure how update delivery timelines will be affected.

Hopefully they'll be quicker, but OP6 for sure will be the quickest to get Android P out of these 3 because it requires the least work. Followed by the S9+ and then the P20 Pro getting it last, because Huawei is the worst with software updates.

For camera, probably P20 Pro, because I've heard nothing but good things about its camera. S9's dual aperture is a good feature with a lot of potential that Samsung isn't fully taking advantage of because of their lacking camera software. Not sure about OP6 camera, haven't used one and haven't watched any in-depth reviews.

For battery life, my S9+ gives me great battery life. Easily lasts a 16-17 hour day with around 6-7 hours of screen on time and still 30% remaining.
P20 Pro has a 4000 mAh battery, so you could probably get like 2 days out of that thing. Keep in mind, the way it achieves good battery life is because of its somewhat aggressive app management. It tends to close apps in the background very quickly, not only to save battery, but free up RAM as well. This can cause apps constantly relaunching and possibly delayed notifications.
OnePlus' kernel tuning will give you consistently good battery life and they have some nifty features built-in to improve battery life so I'd say all 3 phones are good performers when it comes to battery. However, using dash charging regularly on the OP6 will wear out the battery quicker, reducing battery life quicker than the S9 and P20 Pro.

Performance wise, OP6 on top. Without a doubt.
S9+ coming up in second place and P20 Pro last, because of the aggressive RAM management I mentioned above and because EMUI is a mess.

Display, I think we all know who wins in this department...
hint: it starts with S, and ends with 'amsung'.

Want a good all rounder that will last long? OnePlus 6.
Want a phone that will last you 3 years and then start to get frustrating? S9+
Want a phone that will just look cool and have 3 great cameras? P20 Pro.

There was nothing wrong with the hardware. No difference between early models and newer produced ones.

Once you get an Exynos S9, power it up, don't set it up completely, just get to the homescreen, don't add any of your accounts or data, go to settings, install the latest software update (should be called BRF8), once it installs, go back to settings, factory reset the phone and then begin setting it up as your new phone and add your Google account and other data.

The newest build is probably the best I've used so far.

July update just released today. Brings a new bootloader and more kernel fixes.

Will be out for Pak between 20th and 28th of this month.

June update was released on 29th June for PAK CSC on S9+.

I am looking for an SMS app that automatically blocks spam messages.
I usually get 5-6 spam texts everyday and this is pretty annoying.
I'm currently using Textra.

I found them a bit weak. Not worth $100 for sure, but they still sound much nicer than most other free earphones that come with smartphones.

The buds that HTC bundled with their HTC 10 in comparison sound much better and I don't think those were valued at $100.

However, compared to older Samsung bundled earphones or any other brand, these AKG ones aren't that bad. I use them daily and have gotten quite used to them now.

Turn on Dolby Atmos on your phone and mess around with the equaliser to adjust how you want it to sound. Go ahead and set up Adapt Sound as well, it makes everything sound a little bit better.

General AOSP security patches are delivered by Google. Samsung then discovers exploits in its own framework, which it also integrates into the updates. Lastly, since Samsung phones use Exynos chipsets, and Exynos is made by Samsung, so any Exynos specific exploits are also integrates into these updates.

As for the August update being delivered quickly, that's just a fluke lol. Samsung just likes to surprise us every now and then.

What is peoples obsession with Battle Royale genre. 6 minutes to find a match, 3 minutes to setup a match, 2 minutes to land, 10 minutes for scavanging maybe 2 3 gunfigts and its over. Multiplayer landscape is looking absolute dogshit.
I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
