I read that they are making the game so that it would be scalable to the upcoming console gen. This hints at their release plans I think, which would be 2020 earliest (fits also fit Cyberpunk 2020 lol). Think TLoU, GTAV etc.

Current gen console specs weren't finalized when they showed the Witcher 3 trailer.Yeah, it was legit in a demo capacity but they made severe cut backs for the final release, even final PC on Ultra presets doesn't come close to matching that demo for things like lighting, physics, alpha effects in explosions, NPC density etc.

Let's hope the same fate doesn't befall Cyberpunk.
Console peeps should definitely be concerned though, even the downgraded W3 build has trouble maintaining stable frame rates on the Pro lol

Even if console specs are not matching, at least there should be an option to have those extra features on PC. Unless they were faked for initial showing purposes .. aka bullshot.
I don't think ND or R* deliberately had development for next-gen consoles in mind when making those games for PS3. See below for example The Last of Us was tailor made for the PS3 architecture and ND had a lot of issues converting it to PS4.

Maybe not. The point is, both games' remake were well done and sold a lot. So it would make sense if CDPR took notice and intend to go cross-gen with Cyberpunk, hence developing the game in a way that it would be easy to scale.

Don't you think the press knows what a bullshot is or what happened with Witcher 3? Yet literally everyone came out of the live demo being blown away. Probably because it was being played live and wasn't a carefully crafted video for demo purposes.
Like I said, console folks have every right to be concerned since the build was a no-show (so much for W3 console sales shifting CDPR's focus
). If the game is cross-gen which seems likely at this point, next consoles will be more in line with the PC build.

This level of world simulation is expected for an open world game being developed primarily for PS5/Xbox Next/PC. Expect the current-gen versions to be dialed down significantly wrt feeling "super alive". Also, expect it to be the norm for next-gen games like Starfield to have this kind of world simulation. The higher degree of verticality sounds good, but it's an area where TW3 was severely lacking to begin with.

Is Cyberpunk 2020 also important for this game in regards to the story or would CDPR makes its own version? I heard they are at least taking some characters from CP 2020.
