The latest entry in the Metro franchise, Metro 3, has officially been announced during Microsoft's E3 2017 press conference.
The moody demo, showcased on the Xbox One X, opened with a Dostoevsky quote, and quickly transitioned into a first-person battle with a pack of wolf-like ghoul in a dark tunnel. The character then emerged into a landscape featuring a derelict town, exploring the abandoned landscape with a crossbow in hand.

I am a big fan of the first two games. I hope this stands up to the reputation.

AWWW YISSS!!! Fan of both previous parts, so this reveal was really awesome for me. Looks great. Loved the touch of music (modified 28 days/weeks later theme). And it looks like they are continuing from the good ending of Last Light. That's great.

this is definitely Metro.. and this is going to b one hell of Ride.

Metro Last light was an excellent released, didn't play the first though.

Anyways, this final installment looks epic in trailer. We might get more horror than the last one. But it's an early observation.

Trailer looked very good, but then again both Metro games have been some of the most technologically advanced games of their release time .. however I hope they don't try to turn this fully open-world. Make it a semi-open world but narrative focused, that'd be preferred IMO.

Thats the vibe I got too. Didn't look fully open world though. And besides Anthem (which may not end up looking like it did), this was easily the most visually impressive game for me.

And that music.. wow.

The title says Xbox One X but its confirmed that the demo was running on PC.

I think it's safe to say that's the case in majority of the demos they showed :p

XB X will do a good up rendering games at higher resolutions but the CPU isn't powerful enough to turn every 30 FPS console game to 60 FPS. So it's gonna be more like the Pro but giving higher resolutions and similar performances.

Damn, can’t watch this at work.

Currently playing through Metro 2033 Redux and it looks absolutely fucking amazing. Redux gameplay improvements are the icing on the cake.

Deep Silver and 4A Games today announced that Metro Exodus is set for release in Autumn 2018.

Revealed during The Game Awards, The Aurora Trailer offers a glimpse of post-apocalyptic Moscow - a hostile world locked in an endless nuclear winter. The desperate survivors who cling to existence beneath the surface in the ruins of the Metro have long given up hope of a life beyond Moscow... all except for one.

As Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East. This thrilling story-line will span an entire calendar year through the changing seasons.

We are happy to announce our collaboration with NVIDIA using RTX technology to include real-time ray traced Global Illumination in our upcoming game, Metro Exodus.

This demonstration shows RTX implemented and running in Metro Exodus, on our proprietary 4A Engine, using actual game content - you might recognise this environment from our 2017 E3 trailer! We have utilized true raytracing to render both Ambient Occlusion and Indirect Lighting in full realtime, in a practical in-game scenario. The demo can be seen running at NVIDIA’s booth at GDC 2018.
