Wow Chhowni
I've been regularly wearing wrist watches since I was 6 years old.
God bless the Japanese for making wrist watches affordable!

It's a good habit and I've always found people who properly utilize the functionality of their wrist watches to be better in time management as compared to non-users.

It has been my lifelong ambition to be able to afford an authentic Swiss watch one day. Preferably a Rolex or a Vacheron Constantin.

It's a perception we are wired to. Anything coming abroad/as gift doesn't necessarily have the top quality, It's the sentimental value and emotional attachments which passes through our perception filter. Perhaps you aren't looking for a watch at right places. Basically watches contribute about 90% of gifts coming from Saudi Arabia.

In a way you are right... In those days when we weare 7 or 10 year old. Getting a good digital watch from Taya/Mamoo was such a big happiness that we automatically assumed it being the best thing in the world.
Not really. You perceived it totally differently.

See, inflation in our market makes the prices of watches go sky high. I am not a fan of Rolex, Rado, Citizen style watches. You can say that i find them waste of precious money (Not that i am not aware of the ... crafting-skill or man hours involved to make a special watch). But finding a watch with good (practical) quality, which can sustain the Rape in our environment (dust, water, scratch proof) ... in an affordable price is difficult. And in the presence of Replicas, B grade quality watches, its absolutely impossible ... unless you go to the right place. And mind you, that right place will never have affordable rates.

I'd hail the Chinese manufactures though, for obvious reasons. But then in wrist watches, quality asks for dough.

Anyway, thats a whole new era of discussion and i am certainly not qualified in this field.

All i can say is that watches are mandatory in current times, especially if you want to keep track of time. A cell phone can never be a replacement of a wrist watch. Everyone in my house (excluding me) wears a wrist watch ... because of their usefulness.

I love wrist watches. Especially the ones with three timers. I have been wearing watching since school days. I have a drawer full of'em.

Watches not only are useful for keeping track of time/date but they are also a useful tool to avoid awkward eye contact and to let the person yapping to you, know that you don't have time for his mindless prattle. :p

You just proved my point :)

And 6k might not seem to expensive (especially given the whole range of wrist watches which can go upto 100,000 or more) ... but for an ordinary person, it definitely is expensive.

Spoiler: show
Plus, Current times don't allow us to wear expensive watches like these, or keep expensive mobile phones in the open. I am sure you get the point.

Anyway, please carry on with the discussion. :)

Yes
And something new Generation has to know... Men wear watches on left wrist.
Its not gender related. its only because the knob that is used to set time is on right side of watch and sweat from your arm can get into the watch and can damage the the watch
and in most of the work right hand is used so most people use wear watch on left hand
and it is also easy to tie watch on left hand by help of your right

Old Generation should get some common sense :p

Wrist watches are outdated and are purely used for fashion purpose not for its actual purpose which is for watching time. People can see time in their cellphones.
