Ryan Gosling is Netflix's new BioShock movie's perfect protagonist. He is the ideal actor to bring Jack to life, with his turns in films like Drive.

Jack Wynand will likely be the protagonist of Netflix's BioShock movie, and Ryan Gosling has already proven that he's the perfect pick for the role. Jack isn't exactly vocal in the video games, in fact, he doesn't say anything bar a few gruff grunts when struck in combat. However, Gosling not only has the right look for the character, but his past roles also prove that he's a great pick for the lead in a terrifying horror thriller like the BioShock movie.

The player character in BioShock is called Jack Wynand, though he mostly just goes by Jack. The character first stumbles into the dystopian city of Rapture when his plane crashes into the ocean, leading him to the lighthouse with an elevator that takes him deep into the underwater world. Jack eventually finds out that he is actually from Rapture, and is the subject of a scientific experiment designed to artificially age him. He is also a sleeper agent, programmed to kill his "father," Andrew Ryan, when exposed to his activation phrase: "would you kindly?"

Jack can be whatever the filmmakers at Netflix want him to be, but Ryan Gosling is the perfect actor for the role. Firstly, his look is exactly right for Jack. Though the character isn't seen properly until BioShock Infinite's downloadable adventure, Burial at Sea (and even then, his face is obscured), it's clear that his build, facial structure, and even hairstyle are similar to Gosling's. Additionally, the actor possesses an emotionless, deadpan default facial expression that is ideal for the brainwashed Jack.

Though Jack displays very few emotions in the game, as he is merely a vessel for the player, the Netflix movie will require him to produce some wild reactions to the narrative's many twists. It will also require him to be a brutal killer, able to respond to his programming and tear down hundreds of "Splicers" while being manipulated by Atlas. Gosling is the perfect actor to take on this challenge, as his turns in films by Nicolas Winding Refn like Drive and Only God Forgives demonstrate his ability to portray a terrifying killer with whom the audience can still empathize.

Gosling is also the right age for the role of Jack. Though he is technically the age of a toddler, Jack looks to be physically in his 30s, with an athletic build under his iconic cream sweater. More importantly, Gosling has proven his emotional versatility with his turns in Blade Runner 2049 and La La Land, demonstrating that he can breathe life into the soulless role of Jack and turn him into a fully-fledged character, something he's never truly been in the games. Furthermore, the movie will require a major star to attract viewers who are unaware of Jack and the BioShock property. Gosling would thus be the perfect pick for Netflix to use to attract a new audience.

Ryan Gosling is far more than the romantic comedy actor that some know him as. His emotional versatility, experience playing terrifyingly violent characters, and his age and look make him perfect for the role of Jack. When Netflix comes to casting its BioShock movie, the filmmakers should consider this stellar actor for its leading role.

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

They could've sold the studios instead of closing them, but the nazi bastards just didn't want competition down the road.
