Beware of Phishing / Scam attempts - Read this to stay safe!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted everyone to know that we have had increasing number of attempts at scams and phasing attacks, so be vigilant specially in marketplace.

If ANYONE (even myself) is asking for payment in non-traceable way or some services which are not available in Pakistan - Dont deal with them. i.e Bitcoin, etc or other Cryptocurrencies OR Upi OR Paypal - We dont accept these currencies on the platform.

Please make sure that you are using

Complex and strong passwords

Dont use the same password which you use for your email on the forum

Enable Multi-factor authentication

Dont fall for too-good-to-be-true type deals. You are not going to find a new PS5 or RTX 3080 for 70K PKR in current market.

Above all, be vigilant, use the skills you learned in Among us

These 7 tips will help make your digital life more secure.
Never reveal your passwords to others. You probably wouldn’t give your ATM card and PIN to a stranger and then walk away. So, why would you give away your username and password? Your login credentials protect information as valuable as the money in your bank account. Nobody needs to know them but you—not even the IT department. If someone is asking for your password, it’s a scam.

Use different passwords for different accounts. That way, if one account is compromised, at least the others won’t be at risk.

Use multi-factor authentication (MFA). Even the best passwords have limits. Multi-Factor Authentication adds another layer of protection in addition to your username and password. Generally, the additional factor is a token or a mobile phone app that you would use to confirm that you really are trying to log in. Learn more about MFA and how to turn it on for many popular websites at https://twofactorauth.org/.

Length trumps complexity. The longer a password is, the better. Use at least 16 characters whenever possible.

Make passwords that are hard to guess but easy to remember.

  • To make passwords easier to remember, use sentences or phrases. For example, “breadandbutteryum”. Some systems will even let you use spaces: “bread and butter yum”.
  • Avoid single words, or a word preceded or followed by a single number (e.g. Password1). Hackers will use dictionaries of words and commonly used passwords to guess your password.
  • Don’t use information in your password that others might know about you or that’s in your social media (e.g. birthdays, children’s or pet’s names, car model, etc.). If your friends can find it, so will hackers.
Complexity still counts. To increase complexity, include upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters. A password should use at least 3 of these choices. To make the previous example more secure: “Bread & butter YUM!”

Use a password manager. Password management tools, or password vaults, are a great way to organize your passwords. They store your passwords securely, and many provide a way to back-up your passwords and synchronize them across multiple systems. Though the University does not recommend any one solution, here are some examples of free password managers*:

I also want to add that you should not use credit (or worse debit) card for purchase of apps in Google Play.

My google account was hacked and some one added two gaming apps that deducted $400 per week. When I had realized it, the Google Play refund time limit was expired. I deleted my card but the hackers stole about $500 from my debit card.

A safe option for people in Pakistan is to use Jazz Cash or Zong mobile payment to purchase apps on Google Play. The reason is that the mobile cash payment platforms have a limit of Rs. 2000 to Rs. 20,000 so you don't have to worry about hackers stealing a large sum from your bank account.

Here is an article on Medium.com about the Google Play scam.

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

They could've sold the studios instead of closing them, but the nazi bastards just didn't want competition down the road.
